Chapter 447: Coming to Moscow

Mhamad's face was gloomy when he smiled and sent the US ambassador away.

"Mr. President, Afghanistan's victory was exchanged for the blood of martyrs. This is our world and Americans are absolutely not allowed to interfere!" Musha Afgh said.

"Yes, we must not let the Americans garrison. The Americans are like drunken men. Maybe they are still coming for us." Mhamad said: "So, the task we go to Moscow this time is very difficult. We must talk to the Soviets clearly about the time for their withdrawal. Don't worry, take your time."

The Afghan people do not welcome the Soviets, nor do Americans. The only real friend they think is Pakistan. Even if the West has helped them, it comes through Pakistan. Now, in Pakistan's industrialization, Afghanistan is an important mineral base, and countless Afghans benefit from it. Their relationship with Pakistan is already a relationship between fish and water.

Unfortunately, Pakistan's national strength is still not strong enough. Mhamad knew that when he had not developed to the same economic strength as the United States, he could only keep a low profile first.

The next day, a special plane from Pakistan flew to Moscow.

Moscow is the capital of the powerful Soviet empire. In this era, the Soviet Union is still a pole of the world.

The Soviet Union, whose full name is the Alliance of Soviet Socialist Republics, was formed on December 30, 1922 by the merger of Soviet Russia, Belarus Soviet Socialist Republic, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, Transcaucasian Soviet Socialist Federal Republic and other Soviet Socialist Republic. It is the country with the largest land area in the world, spanning most Eastern Europe and almost the entire Central Asia and North Asia. It is also the country with the third population.

It is like a huge beast. Because it borders the Arctic, the Soviet Union is also called the polar bear, the flag of the sickle and the axe. It flies on the vast continent, representing the ideal of the Soviet Union, the workers and farmers. It unites!

Moscow is the capital of the Soviet Union.

The Moscow River and the tributary Yawuzha River flow slowly. This city, built next to the river, has extremely beautiful scenery and is surrounded by large plains. The transportation is convenient and favorable conditions, making it the capital of the Soviet Union and an important industrial manufacturing center, science and technology and education center in the Soviet Union.

When the plane landed at Moscow International Airport, Mhamad saw the Russian guard of honor in the square and welcomed his arrival.

Soviet Foreign Minister Edward Shewaldnaze, standing under the gangway, looked at Pakistani President Mhamad above, and walked off the plane with his wife Lilis.

Without seeing the welcome crowd, Mhamad knew that in the past few years, it was good enough for the Soviets to point guns at themselves. It would be really difficult for them to find some cheerleaders to shout welcome.

"Hello, President Mhamad, welcome your arrival." Shewaldnaze said to Mhamad when he walked down.

"I'm very happy. I can visit the capital of the Soviet Union." Mhamad said, looking at the person in front of me.

The tall nose, deep eyes, and outline of the appearance reveal the characteristics of a Georgian. This person is almost sixty years old. In 1928, he was born in a peasant family on the Black Sea coast of western Georgia. When he was in college, he participated in various political activities and gradually rose to prominence. In 1972, he became the first general secretary of Georgia.

In 1976, he joined the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and became an alternate member of the Politburo two years later. In 1985, with Gorbachev's strong recommendation, Shevardnaze became the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union. Since then, he has been in this position until the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Gorbachev did this with purpose. On the one hand, Shevardnaze was very friendly to the West and similar to Gorbachev's concept. He no longer believed that the relationship between the West and the Soviet Union was as strong as fire and irreconcilable. At the same time, he also promoted Gormiko from this position. Although Gormiko was promoted to the chairman of the Soviet Supreme Soviet Presidium, in terms of real power, he was not as good as the foreign minister.

This person has the same view as Gorbachev, that is, the Soviet Union's battle in Afghanistan is meaningless, and the Soviet Union should have withdrawn its troops from Afghanistan long ago. Historically, under his guidance, the Soviet Union withdrew its troops from Afghanistan in 1989 and signed a landmark arms control agreement with the United States in 1991. These are his main political achievements, and he even participated in the unification negotiations between Federal Germany and Democratic Germany.

And some people think that the guy in front of him is a complete traitor.

When the Soviet Union collapsed, he resigned with Gorbachev and then returned to Georgia. In 1995, he was elected President of Georgia and re-elected in 2000.

Who would have thought that later Russia and Georgia would fight over the territorial disputes in South Ossetia. When that huge empire disappeared, every Soviet republic was experiencing a painful transformation.

Everyone's merits and demerits are evaluated by history, and now, Mhamad knows that chatting with the foreign minister in front of him should be more pleasant.

The two men held hands together, and at the same time, the military bands began to play the national anthems of the two countries.

The welcome at the airport did not last long, and he got on the car and headed towards the Kremlin.

Lilith sat inside the car, looking at everything outside, her eyes full of excitement.

When there were many people, Lilith maintained the necessary momentum of the head of state's wife, and now, while sitting in the car, Lilith has regained her original character.

Lilis wanted to come to Moscow very early, but even if Mhamad agreed to her, she felt that it was just a dream. It was not easy to come here!

And now, it really came. Lilith looked at the spire buildings and the flags hanging on the buildings on both sides of the street. Every place was attracting her attention.

Moscow, I am finally here!

The Kremlin is located on the Borovitsky hill in the center of Moscow. It is adjacent to the Moscow River in the south, to the Alexanderovsky Garden in the northwest, and to the Red Square in the southeast, forming a triangle. It witnesses the history of Russia. In the past, it was the palace of the Russian Tsar, but now it is the political center of the Red Empire Soviet Union.

The Kremlin is a complex, among which the Great Kremlin is one of the main buildings in the Kremlin. Facing the Moscow River, the beautiful classical Russian-style building with three high windows is the Great Kremlin, with a copper dome above it. This is also the place where the Soviet Union handles the government. The white wide staircase leads to the various halls on the second floor. The more famous ones are Georgiev Hall, Vladimir Hall and Ekaterina Hall, etc.

On the first floor, Soviet General Secretary Gorbachev stood quietly, watching people from Pakistan.

Pakistan and the Soviet Union have not had a good relationship. They have fought for several years, but this does not mean that Gorbachev and Mhamad have a bad relationship. The person who started the war was no longer there, but Gorbachev, who had never participated, had to wipe his butt. Moreover, Gorbachev would be secretly cursed by some tough people as traitors. However, Gorbachev's original intention remains unchanged. This is a wrong war and must be terminated!

This is not the first time the two have met. Back then, Gorbachev and Mhamad met secretly on the Afghan border area. During that meeting, Gorbachev gained a lot, for example, successfully controlled the military and kicked those opponents out of the army.

"Very welcome, our Pakistani friend." Gorbachev said.

"I am very honored to be able to come to Moscow." Mhamad also said: "Although there have been many misunderstandings between us, now I come with all sincerity. The past is the past. We should look to the future and continue to promote our traditional friendship."

The meeting between the supreme leaders of two countries that had just ended the war was held in a passionate atmosphere, and it was not like an opponent who had ever been slaughtered.

"President Mhamad, your wife is so beautiful." Gorbachev shook hands with Mhamad, and then held Lilith.

"Thank you for the compliment, Moscow is also beautiful," Lilith said.

Mhamad continued to introduce the people behind him, and after the greetings, they went up the second floor together.

Georgiev Hall.

This is the most famous hall in the Great Kremlin, with an oval shape, with six gold-plated two-chandeliers hanging on the dome. The dome and surrounding walls are painted with giant murals of various battles that the Russian team has won for centuries. There are 18 cylinders on the front of the hall, and the tops of the columns are all made of statues symbolizing victory.

Entering this magnificent palace, Lilis tried to make herself look more stable. Although she was here to visit Moscow this time, she came on behalf of Pakistan. She couldn't seem to be unaware of it. In fact, she just likes Russian architecture.

"Our Soviet Red Army still has about 100,000 troops in the Afghanistan area. Now, we want to end the military operations against Afghanistan and withdraw all of them back to the country." Gorbachev said: "When we retreat, we need to pass through the mountains in northern Afghanistan, especially in the Panjshir Valley, etc. Therefore, our withdrawal requires the cooperation of the Afghan free government."
