Chapter 237 Past, or future

The stable illusion dissipated into nothing in an instant. The shadows that had been hidden in the corners were creeping silently, and they had unknowingly seized all areas. The unexplained cold air spread in the gloomy space, and even when they spoke, they would spit out some white mist.

The cold air slowly penetrated the body, first with the fingertips, and then even the entire upper body felt the numbness brought by the cold air. A faint mist floated into it from outside the tower, and the rusty metal-like odor on the lakeside came with the mist, leaving cold gray liquid beads on the surface of the stone.

The body temperature dropped very quickly, but it did not affect the degree of movement. Curt shook off the liquid beads stained on his hands, and also slapped the ice residue on his body.

Snap-

With a crisp sound, the liquid beads that fell to the ground burst out with countless fine lights. The hardened water vapor wrapped around the liquid beads, and then hit the hard ground. In an instant, countless cracked crystals scattered around, brushing more places with snow.

But in a while, most of the hall was eroded by the cold air, and dripping white frost continued to spread.

The shock caused by the collapse of objects had subsided not long ago, but the damage they caused was irreversible. Most of the stone tablets and collapsed statues remained in the hall full of broken walls, adding a hint of coldness to this tall tower that looked like a cemetery.

Standing inside the black tower, I suddenly felt like I was in a huge mechanic structure. Are each ‘assembly’ accurately connected, revealing a mechanical sense of unity - as if as soon as some joints turn, the whole body will run with it.

Following the stairs that spread upward, Curt's eyes captured several platforms connected in series by an upwardly extending stone pillar. Their concave and convex structures look like gears, and the multi-stage ladders connected between them are like levers connecting gears.

Sitting carelessly on a "gear" with a radius of less than one meter, the strange boy looked down at Cot and Liqi below, with an unknown smile on his face. He supported his cheek with one hand and placed his other hand on his legs, with no sense of urgency on his face.

Looking at the way in front of him, the young man may have occupied several of the most core components of the huge mechanic structure, and he also knew what was the reason for all this. Maybe he was the culprit of destroying the illusion in the tower. It was because of this that he turned a blind eye to the sudden change of atmosphere around him.

Standing at the feet of the strangely twisted giant statue, the two looked up at the boy sitting high. Not only did he show obvious hostility, he also claimed to be a friend they "will meet in the future". Perhaps he was as threatening as he had suggested, but neither of them could be careless.

"Uh. Please don't be so nervous, okay?"

The boy's expression was a little awkward. Obviously he had seen through both of them that they were able to attack at any time: "Didn't I say that? I am your friend - no matter what, I don't look like the kind of guy who smiles when he faces face to face, turns his back and stabs someone, right?"

The boy raised his hands and jumped up on the stone tablet as if he was relaxed. There were many trivial objects in his pocket, and he made a crisp collision sound as he jumped up and down. Perhaps he thought that the lack of anything in his hand could be used as a weapon would mean that he had no malice?

If it were just this, his thoughts were somewhat similar to Curt - he believed that unarmed people could make the other party easier to communicate. However, they always seemed to forget to consider whether their power would become a feared existence, and often forgot to consider the other party's position.

The young man did not possess a weapon, but the magic power hidden in his body was already dangerous enough. With the magic power of the order of magnitude that he had on his body, simply purifying it and releasing it as energy, its power was comparable to the largest magic cannon in the Dominion.

Overly powerful forces have always been one of the sources of disputes. No one is willing to see powerful forces that are not controlled by themselves swaying under their noses. No matter what a person with extraordinary power does, it is easy to attract fear from the people around him - ten of them are fear of his own safety.

Curt shrugged, then moved his hand away from the hilt of his waist: "Is there no hostility? That happens, I have no interest in fighting you."

To be fair, his power does make people feel uneasy, but for the two who are somewhat difficult to die, it is nothing more than a difference of "death" once or many times. Since the other party is willing to use words to solve the problem, Curt is too lazy to waste his energy in unnecessary places.

Since the young man claimed to be their "friend", he might ask for some information about the world from him. And if the fact is, as he claimed, the time when he first met the two should be "now" after and not here.

If we have the greatest hope for this, perhaps this young man is the key to their escape from this dead world and returning to Katris City.

"Since you just said that you are a friend we 'will meet in the future' - can I think you are an individual from the future?" Just a second before Curt was about to speak, a slightly low voice from the girl suddenly came from behind him, and there seemed to be a hint of doubt in his words.

Perhaps it was because he was unwilling to fight against such super-spec opponents. Liqi, who was standing behind Curt, also spoke: "If we know your existence in the future, then you should at least be able to tell some of the information we will reveal with your 'friends' as proof."

At the time of stalemate between the two sides, the biting deep cold hidden in the air further spread. The numbness at the beginning had been replaced by a slight stinging pain. Liqi's already blood-deficient skin became almost transparent in the cold, as if the flow of body fluids in the blood vessels could be observed through the skin.

The cold makes it difficult to move and can also interfere with the ability to grasp the environment around you. Liqi, who felt a little uncomfortable, frowned, and then gently tapped the air with her fingers a few times. The next moment, a ball of spheres burning with dim blue and white light appeared beside the two of them.

Just like a bright light that dispels darkness, the moment the sphere appears, the cold air that keeps attacking suddenly retreats. Looking around, not only the cold in the air, but also the white frost covering the ground is disappearing rapidly. The cold gray liquid seems to be afraid of the glory of the sphere, and it is afraid that it will not be avoided.

But the boy didn't have so much trouble. Although he had already covered his side with a thick layer of white frost, he was still standing there as if nothing had happened. Not only was the cold unable to touch him, but the snow that eroded the ground was just right.

"Well... should it be right, or is it wrong?"

Regarding Liqi's question, the boy laughed dryly, and then gave them an answer that was not an answer: "In the general timeline, you two should exist at the time point after me, but I know you in the 'past' for me."

It is complicated to say seriously, but maybe you will understand it in the future - he whispered it casually, as if he didn't want to bother too much about time.

"Also, of course I can answer the questions you asked, but in exchange... I want to know what problems you encountered." His lips raised slightly, and a subtle smile appeared. "Even if you are plagued by the "Immortal Curse", you need to rely on your friends occasionally, right?"

In an instant, the eyes of Curt and Liqi looking at the boy changed - knowing the specificity of the two, this alone can at least show that his relationship with them is not simple. Enemies or friends, no matter which one, are quite deep relationships.

However, the boys didn't care about their sudden change of attitude, but just kept talking on their own: "Maybe you don't know yet that this 'extraordinary country' is not far from our homeland, but it is definitely not easy to visit. Based on some reasons why you 'will know' in the future', if it were not affected by special spells, the 'gate' that summoned spells would basically not point to this place."

Curt noticed that when the boy was unwilling to tell them some things, he would always use the phrase "you will know in the future", which may be quite critical information - it may even affect the development of the "future" - so the boy tried his best to avoid talking about the news.

Since that's the case, don't delve into it.

So Curt sighed and said slowly, "Well, it's just something that's okay to tell you... Then again, why didn't the 'we' you know tell you about this? Or is this what you will know in the future?"

Without the need for a boy to explain, Curt began to describe his experiences over the past period of time. He explained the process in a concise and orderly manner as much as possible by the Eye of True Vikingas, the Ultramarines, the strange creations of the Wiggins Sect, and the things he saw after coming here.

"In other words, you two were brought to this world by a 'gate' created similar to the summoning spell?" The boy seemed to think of some information, nodding his head as if he had learned something, "It's incredible that he would meet you again in this way."

Perhaps because he had already had contact with the two people at the "future" time point, he could quickly accept Curt's strange narrative style. As the narrator, Curt didn't know how much he understood, but his sudden enlightenment always made people feel a sense of trust.

Soon, he gave the answer they most wanted to hear: "So...you want me to help you find a way to go back now, right?" (To be continued, please search for Astronomy, novels are better, updated and faster!
