Chapter 35: Behind the Peace

Chapter 35 Behind Peace

It should be due to the environment and climate that the Russian nation has a hard and stubborn personality in its bones. In modern times, they have been repeatedly interfered with, attacked and even invaded by Western powers, the Seven Years' War, the Russian-French War, the Crimean War, and the Allied Powers. They won and lost in these wars, but never really bowed their heads and surrendered. At that time, the annual rings of light turned into 1949, and Western allies led by the United States and Britain once again put pressure on Russia in political and diplomatic terms. The quagmire of national war made Soviet officers and soldiers tired, and the harassment of desperado also made everyone in the Soviet Union.

In such a situation, Russia's current state form, the Soviet Union did not make the best. In order to avoid further development in a direction that was unfavorable to its own country, Moscow instructed the London diplomatic envoy to submit an informal statement to the Joint Committee of the Allied Powers, stating that the Soviet government is willing to resolve the chaos that is happening in Central European countries such as Germany, Austria, Hungary and Poland under the supervision of the international community, and to determine the future of these countries with the will of all citizens.

In terms of simple theory, referendum is the most fair, just and direct way to solve national problems. However, throughout history, the common people are often easily influenced and even bewitched by public opinion. Traditional vote counting methods cannot guarantee that there will be no artificial "mistakes". Referendum often only plays a role in some small countries or local things. Taking a special referendum method on issues related to the status of traditional sovereign states and independent internal affairs, the Soviets' move was completely unexpected to Western politicians, and also caught the top leaders of the allies off guard. Seeing that the Soviet government, which always had a tough position, made concessions, the joint members of the Allies responded principledly after conducting emergency consultations. As long as the Soviet Union immediately stopped military attacks in Central European countries, the allies would also simultaneously freeze the aid to these countries' resistance armed forces, and hold a referendum organized and supervised by the Soviet Union and allies as soon as possible.

On the issue of the fate of other countries, the two camps reached an agreement without soliciting opinions from the parties. On May 16, the Soviet government unilaterally announced a ceasefire with Germany, Austria and other countries, valid for 30 days. During this month, the Soviet army will not take the initiative to attack the militants of these countries, and if attacked, it will only take minimum defense actions. In the spirit of humanitarianism, the Soviet army will lift the blockade of the war zone, and the Soviet army allows civilians, wounded and abandon arrivals in the war zone.

The protesters crossed the Soviet front to the safe area. The Soviet Union accepted observation teams and observers from Western allies into the areas where they actually occupied the controlled areas of the Soviet army, and observed and supervised the referendum held by Germany, Austria, Hungary and Poland. The results of the referendum are scheduled to be announced before the end of the month. However, if the ** armed personnel deliberately undermine the referendum procedures during this period and the peace process cannot be advanced, the Soviet government will no longer bear the responsibility for promoting peace, and Western allies will completely cut off the support of absolute resistance to the armed forces.

After the Soviet Union issued a unilateral ceasefire statement, the Soviet offensive operations with obvious advantages in northern and northwest Germany were all stopped within a limited time. In other areas of Germany, all military operations of the Soviet army to clear the resisters were also suspended. The combat troops gathered in big cities and transportation trunks, and there were no signs of a large number of Soviet troops advancing to Germany, Austria and other countries in the border areas in a short period of time. At the same time, the other side of the firefighting, the rebel armed forces with the North Scandinavian Free Empire as the core, did not issue any form of announcements to the outside world, but issued a ceasefire order in the form of internal military instructions. The Danish islands were used as the advance base and the armed personnel landing on Germany quickly stopped local tactical counterattacks and interspersed harassment. In the eyes of many people, even if this time cannot be transformed into peace, it can give the empire's precarious front situation a valuable respite.

South Germany, Stuttgart. Before the Soviet Union's unilateral ceasefire came into effect, Soviet troops were conducting a large-scale infraction in the city. Although the uprisingers had mobilized evacuation before the war, thousands of civilians remained in the city during the Soviet army's war to seize the city. After the battle, a large number of Stuttgart civilians returned from the surrounding areas one after another. Faced with their homes that were tragically destroyed by the war, they were sad, depressed but not desperate. Thousands of people stayed to rebuild their homes again. Therefore, there were more than ten temporary settlements in the city that were like refugee areas. Their existence provided cover for the remaining uprisingers. Lynn and his reassembled subordinates not only rely on their settlements to obtain food supplies, but those resisters who came from other areas also took the opportunity to enter the city and replenished the team of uprisingers, which was originally only left with more than 40 people.

As soon as the ceasefire arrived, the Soviet troops in Stuttgart stopped the meaningful cleanup operation, which made the Minister of Lynn, who had reeled underground, breathed a sigh of relief. However, the situation did not improve completely. Within a few days, another car of Soviet troops that had withdrawn had returned to this strategically significant and actually controlled city. As the garrison troops increased, the ruins that had been ignored were re-inspected and were re-inspected again in the sight of the occupiers. They carefully and meticulously cleared the places where fighting had occurred, transported away any objects that might have been used by the rebel armed forces or destroyed on the spot, and registered tens of thousands of civilians who had recently returned to Stuttgart one after another, distributed temporary print referendum leaflets to them, and used horns to carry out propaganda offensives.

"The referendum determines the time for the Soviet army to withdraw? Every German now wants them to get out immediately!"

Holding a flyer with an olive branch on the top, Rutz German, who served as the squadron of the first-level commando in the German Free Regiment, spoke his true thoughts straightforwardly. Like Lynn, German was also the lucky soldier who survived the most cruel street battles, and the dozens of deployments who participated in the battles have all returned to Brandenburg.

On the missing chair, sitting on the side was the legendary figure of the empire, the commander-in-chief of the Stuttgart Uprising Army. After the famous telegram "Stuttgart is still fighting", the deputy leader of the German Baath Party once again became the focus, and his image and height in the minds of the people also achieved a qualitative improvement. However, the price behind glory seemed too heavy. Before the war, the uprising army, which was known as "50,000", was almost completely destroyed. Except for those who were captured by the Soviet army and were ashamed to leave the city during the battle, more than 80% of the casualties were recorded in the history of human war due to the tragic tragedy.

Lynn, who was in a state of thinking, did not comment immediately, and Tanze, who was sitting in the rubble, interrupted: "Knowing that the referendum results will be carried out, this means that the Soviets must have other plans. I think it must be a very vicious conspiracy. The headquarters of the epidemic has already had the right solution."

Former SS member, the Imperial Guards Army soldier, Xuanlus Jeog, took over the conversation: "No matter what conspiracy is, there is only one real intention - to consolidate their dominance over Europe, that is, hegemony!"

Indeed, a duel that is like water and fire, and never ends suddenly stops in an unexpected way, and ordinary people can't help but be surprised and confused. If time doesn't give an answer, the guess about the ending will be enough for military strategists to argue for the rest of their lives!

"If more than 50% of votes against the current government, the government will be forcibly disbanded and instead launch universal suffrage in accordance with international practice." German read the last line of the leaflet. At the end, he said contemptuously and affirmatively: "Ninety-nine percent of Germans hate the puppet government in Berlin!"

"With the guns of the Soviets, perhaps fifty percent of people will choose to abstain from the power of the Soviet Union." Geog said realistically, "then Germany will continue to be legally under the rule of the puppet government. The Soviet army may also gain the power to stay in Germany for a long time by signing a garrison agreement, but the allies have to interrupt their supply to us, and the efforts and sacrifices we have put into vanish!"

A emperor and official sitting outside said angrily: "Hmph, those Bolsheviks are best at frost political tricks. They are familiar with this kind of trick. Only fools will believe them and fall into their full set!"

That's right, Lin En thought to himself that it would not be so easy to see through the Soviet conspiracy and draw up solutions. ↓ Because of this, the Imperial Base Camp has only given two simple and vague military instructions so far, ordering each department to suspend all attacks and attacks on the Soviet army, rest on the spot and strengthen vigilance. At the same time, it requires the various theater commands to mobilize and deploy in accordance with the situation. Head-on conflicts with the Soviet army should be avoided during the mobilization process, and do a good job of following the

judging from these cautious instructions, the decision makers of the base camp have not yet thought of a countermeasure. Lynn could even imagine that in the new command of the Northern Europe, the powers, generals and senior staff of the empire were arguing about the status quo and the development of the situation. Of course, as long as the head of state came up with one tenth of the arbitrary style of that year, it was enough to draw a conclusion on the current situation - whether it was correct or not, at least it was a decision.

It has been a long time since I left the decision-making circle of the empire, and Lin Neng has no way to judge whether the silence of the head of state is sincere or helpless. After thinking for a long time, he spoke in a calm tone: "Guys, the ceasefire will last for nearly a month. The enemy is using these precious time to adjust the deployment, and we cannot sit back and wait for death. The fire statement limits our attack and also limits their force against us. In this case, we might as well drill their loopholes and let them taste the taste of self-sufficiency!"

After Lin En said this simply, the officers around him were confused and waited for them to hear the explanation, and they all shouted.
