Chapter 668: The Last Chance for Peace

Mubarak, Egyptian President.

This is a complex character, patriot, tyrant, dictator, reformer, criminal, corrupt, murderer, and murderer, who have been given too many labels in his life.

But no matter what, it cannot be denied. This is a person that cannot be avoided by world history.

Since he was elected the fourth president of Egypt in 1981, Mubarak has served as president for nearly a decade. However, this is not the end of his political life. He will remain president of Egypt for twenty years in the future until the color revolution emerged in Egypt.

The Egyptian president for thirty years ago and after, Egypt's national strength increased significantly during his term, which can actually be seen from the occurrence of the color revolution. If it were Egypt before the 1980s, there was no soil for the color revolution, which was as if Facebook and Twitter were useless in Afghanistan. Without a group of educated classes, Mubarak could have passed on the position of president as a heirloom for generations.

Not to mention the charges that Mubarak was placed on the head by the opposition after he stepped down, at least no one can deny that he is an Arab nationalist.

As an Arab nationalist, the principle he always adheres to is that the problems of the Arab world should be resolved within Arab countries.

Simply put, it is the affairs of Arab countries. For the United States, two principles should be adhered to, namely, the principle of "doing my nothing" and "doing your nothing".

But basically, the Arab League is the so-called "young master's body and life". Mubarak's insistence on the self-determination of the Arab nation has no chance of success under the premise that the US imperialists are committed to intervening.

But even so, Egypt has made great efforts to peacefully resolve the Gulf crisis.

At the last moment before the Gulf War began, Mubarak and Egypt did not give up, insisting on convincing Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United States to sit at the negotiating table until the moment the war broke out.

Most of the countries in the entire Arab League actually hold this attitude. They support Kuwait's power, but oppose the intervention of the United States and the United Nations forces.

The reason is very simple. The Arab elites in the Middle East are very clear that once the United States finds an opportunity to intervene in the Middle East, the fate of the Arab League cannot be decided by itself.

In the 1980s, there were three Arab worlds that could be considered "fighting". One was Egypt led by Mubarak, the other was Syria with the dentist's father, and the other was Saddam's Iraq.

These three countries are all countries that have secular political forces ruled, eliminate religious interference, vigorously develop industrialization and their own national defense forces, and popularize scientific knowledge education. The Arab nation-nationals of these countries also have a strong national consciousness and hope to achieve the revival of the Arab world through industrialization and education.

Obviously, this is the right route.

However, after the Gulf War, the correct route in the Arab world was strangled to death.

The reason is that the Arab world cannot guarantee its own security. Iraq has been abolished as an important force, and the remaining Arab world has no ability to fight against Israel. In order to ensure its own security, it can only compromise with the United States on OPEC's oil pricing power.

Without the right to price oil, the wealth flow of Arab countries can only be decided by the United States. Among them, Saudi Arabia, which is the most unsupported, has received the greatest support from the United States. However, other Arab countries lose their ability to dominate oil, their economy will inevitably decline, and domestic politics will continue to turmoil. With the second kill of the three soldiers, the Middle East countries can't talk about unity. The situation in the Arab world once had a slight improvement, and thus failed.

From this we can see why isis is a dog raised by the Americans? You can tell whoever he bites it. The biggest cause of the disaster in the Middle East is that Israel, the enemy of the Arab world, never bites it, while the secularized Iraq and Syria have been tormented by it. By the way, it sent several god-like assists to the secularized Turkey's Egyptian Sudan, and successfully buried a nail in the NATO system, making the EU dare not leave the protection of the United States.

Since the 21st century, the religious recovery in the Middle East has actually been something the United States is happy to see. Terror attacks are not only the disease of tinea scabies, and no matter how many people die, they will not die on the elites. Once the Middle East is re-religious, it will completely lose the soil for a powerful country, and the Arab countries will no longer be able to challenge the United States' control power in this region.

Religion has been a tool for the ruling class to paralyze the bottom from ancient times to the present. Too much scientific knowledge taught to the people will turn into Mubarak's fate. If the Arab nation wants to give up the dream of pursuing a strong country, it is only possible to give them a dose of ancient anesthetic religion.

With religion, the Arab people will no longer think. They will smash machines and laboratories themselves, burn books that spread science and technology, blacken women, and then count on a book from a thousand years ago to guide themselves to live in this pattern forever.

It's so convenient.

Perhaps it is precisely because of this future that Mubarak and the Arab League countries hope that the Gulf issue can be resolved peacefully, or at least within Arab countries.

Once Iraq is defeated in the Gulf War, the dominance of the Arab League and OPEC's pricing power will surely be transferred to the hands of the hardcore American allies led by Saudi Arabia.

The current position of leader of the Arab League will inevitably be transferred from secular Egypt to Saudi Arabia.

In fact, even if it is threatened by Iraq's army, even Saudi Arabia does not completely support the coalition's attack on Iraq. Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal ran up and down after Kuwait was invaded, hoping to keep the situation within the scope of the Arab League. As long as Iraq withdraws its troops unconditionally, it even agrees to reduce part of Iraq's debts. Unfortunately, these efforts are completely useless.

But at least it means that in the 1980s, the elites of the Arab world were still a little "spirited".

The fact that Saddam was able to achieve such a great victory at the beginning of the war between the coalition forces made Mubarak and other Arab leaders a little overjoyed and at a loss.

What I am happy about is that Iraq's combat effectiveness is unexpected, proving that the Arab world, which was rubbed by Israel on the ground, is not a natural inability to fight, and is by no means a national issue of the Arab nation, but an external factor such as the system, leaders and the environment. Since it is an external factor, it can naturally be transformed.

It is normal to be at a loss. Before the war started, Saddam was unwilling to negotiate. Now he has successfully withstood the American attack, but he is afraid...

Just as Mubarak was paying close attention to the progress of the Gulf War, Cairo TV received a news material from informal channels. However, as long as he had a little professional sensitivity, it could be seen that this news material was by no means simple.

The video shows the wreckage of 117 shot down by Iraq and the captured US troops, as well as the living conditions of hostages detained in Kuwait. This shows that these people were not abused, nor were they deliberately treated as hostages in areas that may be attacked, but enjoyed basic protection from international law.

If these information were not related to Iraq, it would never be possible to spread, or at least it would not be able to be spread to Cairo TV.

Mubarak felt sensitively that this was not an ordinary news event, it was a political call from Saddam!

As a political veteran, Mubarak quickly seized this opportunity. Can Iraq's unexpected "civilization" performance of prisoners of war and hostages be regarded as an opportunity to promote a peaceful resolution?

Without the war, no one paid attention to the voice of the Arab League. It was because the power of the Arab League was too weak. Now Saddam has sent the chips to Mubarak. Isn’t this an opportunity to re-promote a peaceful solution?

The Arab world has suffered too much, and Mubarak really can't bear to see Iraq, an important secular position, be destroyed again.

As leaders of the Arab League, Egypt and Mubarak have the obligation and responsibility to stand up and it is time to save the tragedy.

After Cairo TV broadcast news from Iraq, it immediately caused an uproar internationally. No one expected that the Gulf War would start with the defeat of the coalition forces.

Then eight hours after the war began, Mubarak spoke publicly to the world on the TV screen of Cairo TV.

At this time, the coalition command center had not even figured out what had happened.

"Every president seems to have a situation during his tenure. He has to face a difficult decision whether to send young soldiers and patriots to a dangerous situation. I believe that it is very difficult for President Bush or President Saddam, as well as leaders of any country in the world to make this decision."

Mubarak on TV lowered his head, showed a heavy look, and showed 120% of his speaking skills.

"The war in the Gulf region has caused thousands of deaths and injuries, and there are too many tragedies that are questioning our human souls. Suppose we can reduce these tragedies any point, it is the redemption of human civilization for self. From the situation of President Saddam on coalition prisoners of war and the citizens of various countries held, they have not been subjected to unreasonable abuse. It can be seen that Iraq is at least a civilized country, not an evil country that the Nazis cannot communicate with..."

At the end of his speech, Mubarak showed a compassionate look and began to shout loudly: "In order to avoid the war creating more tragedies and redeem the tragedy that is happening, I propose that the 24-hour ceasefire in the Gulf War will be used to communicate with Iraq, negotiate exchanges of prisoners of war, release hostages from various countries, and give peace a last chance..."
