Chapter 453

On the road leading to Idrica, the tracks and wheels of two SDKFZ251 armored vehicles rumbled and rushed towards Pustoshka City quickly.

In the armored vehicle in the lead, Lieutenant Terregin leaned against the hard wall of the car, without saying a word, staring at the blue sky and white clouds above the carriage with no eyes.

The severe pain in his back hit wave after wave, stimulating his sensitive nerves.

The unknown German was too ruthless and smashed himself to the ground with a spoil, then dragged him to the German position, and became his captive in a daze.

After glanced at the back of the carriage, Lieutenant Terregin saw two German soldiers staring at him, pointing the muzzle of the pistol and semi-automatic rifle in their hands at him. As long as he had any abnormal movement, he would be knocked into a honeycomb in a few seconds.

Judging from this posture, the Germans should have to send themselves to the rear for interrogation.

With the German fascist style, they will definitely torture themselves and must be a strong man.

"The most precious thing for a man is life. Life is only once for everyone. A person's life should be spent like this: when he recalls the past, he will not regret wasting his years; nor will he be ashamed of mediocrity. When he is dying, he can say: My whole life and all my energy are dedicated to the most magnificent cause in the world to fight for the liberation of mankind."

The young Lieutenant Terrekin whispered his favorite novel clips, adding a sacred atmosphere to the carriage.

Soon, Lieutenant Terrekin saw tall buildings appearing on both sides of the highway, which meant that he was getting closer and closer to the execution ground.

The armored vehicle was parked in front of a small hotel. Lieutenant Terregin jumped out of the car with two German soldiers, and was pushed and shoved to the lobby of a hotel.

Lieutenant Terrekin saw that he was brought here with him and an unknown second lieutenant of the Soviet army.

There were very few people in the hall, except for them, two people sat and four people stood.

Four lieutenants stood beside the two generals like stars holding the moon. That's right. They turned out to be two generals. Lieutenant Tellekin once thought he had read it wrong.

But the military uniforms and the temperament of senior officers on them truly demonstrated that there were two generals, one general and the other lieutenant general.

But the lieutenant general seemed to be something wrong, as if... it seemed a little too young, and his appearance was similar to his age.

Lieutenant Terrekin was taken to two generals with full speculation and anxiety.

"Mr. Lieutenant, your name, unit number." A German major standing behind the German lieutenant general asked in Russian.

"I am Lieutenant Vasily Ivanovic Terekine, it's over." Terekine said concisely.

"I am Lieke Alexey Cotwin."

Terrekin soon learned the name of the prisoner-of-war friend beside him.

The major who acted as the translator said, "Lt. Terregin, Lieutenant Kotwin, I will introduce you to you. Sitting before you are the German General of the Army, Mr. Fitinghof Scher, and the Governor of Poland in Germany, Lieutenant General Heinz von Rosen."

Lieutenant Terregin reluctantly raised his hand to salute the two generals. He didn't want to be regarded as an ungrateful guy by the Germans.

After Chen Dao saw that the introduction was completed, he waved to the two prisoners and asked them to sit down.

After the two of them sat down, Chen Dao took the lead and said, "General Xie and I invited you to come here because we wanted to invite you to have breakfast together, and ask you to help you."

Second Lieutenant Cotwin asked in a low voice: "Mr. Governor, do you want us to act as messengers and go back and persuade our comrades to surrender?"

"You are so smart, Mr. Lieutenant, that's what I mean. Everyone is a man. Give me a simple answer. Do you help me with this or not?"

Lieutenant Terrekin was excited and his back seemed to be less painful.

This is a good opportunity to escape, and it was delivered to you by the Germans. You must not miss it.

"General, it is my honor to serve you, but I cannot guarantee whether my chief can accept your advice." Telekine said first.

Admiral Schell said, "It doesn't matter. You can just bring the kindness of me and the Governor. You don't need to be responsible for the rest. Remember to tell your chief that if he can decide to surrender, young Russian youth like you will die much less, and thousands of Russian mothers will not receive notices of their son's death, so please consider our proposal carefully."

Lieutenant Terrekin and Lieutenant Cotwin nodded quickly.

"We will convey your kindness to our comrades. When will we set out?"

Chen Dao smiled at General Sher.

"It seems that our lieutenant can't wait to be a messenger for us, but don't worry, you can leave after dinner."

People were under the low eaves and had to bow their heads.

Although he didn't want to stay by the Germans for an extra second, Tellekin and Kotwin were still forced to accept Chen Dao's kindness and have breakfast with them.

The two sides had no language, and the communication was all based on Major Lorentz's translation, and the communication was boring.

After a quick breakfast, Lieutenant Terregin was sent to the armored vehicle and returned along the way to perform his messenger's duties.

Looking at the backs of the two armored vehicles leaving, Chen Dao said to General Sher: "I hope that their chief is a guy with an IQ of more than ninety, and he can detect the real information I want to reveal to him."

The journey home of Lieutenant Terrekin and Second Lieutenant Kotwin was very smooth. The 21st Mechanized Army and the 10th Armored Division fought one morning. They each suffered some casualties and temporarily ceased the battle, and each readjusted the deployment and prepared to fight again.

When Lieutenant Terregin and the others returned, they happened to be in the interim of the armistice. A German captain gave each of them a white hand towel to serve as a white flag, and then drove them out of the position.

The two carefully waved their white handkerchiefs, walked through the middle area where corpses were everywhere, returned to their own arms, and were then taken to Idrica by car.

"The boring Germans, they are already in trouble, and they want us to surrender. It's ridiculous."

In the northern suburbs of Idrica, Major General Leliushenko, who had just settled here, was very dissatisfied with it.

"It seems that it is necessary for us to send two German prisoners back, persuade them to surrender, and to combat the superiority of the two German generals from somewhere."

Sitting next to Leliushenko and having been pondering, Chief of Staff Kapshkin suddenly said: "Have you forgotten a very important detail?"

“What’s the problem?”

"Who is the person who asked those two officers to bring us a message?"

Leliushenko picked up the report on the table and started reading it again.

"One is General Fitinghof Schell, and the other is... Well! Well? It turned out to be him, the famous 'brother-in-law', the governor of Poland, who predicted that Germany would defeat France in eight weeks. Why did he appear here?" Leliushenko could hardly believe his eyes.

"Whether it is the Battle of Poland, the Battle of France, North Africa, or the battle with the British Navy, he is fighting on the front line of the war. I don't feel surprised that he appears before us."

Lelyushenko stepped forward and popped out of the chair and shouted to the outside: "Come on, bring the two released officers to me, and I will ask them in person."

Turning back, Lelyushenko said to Kapshkin: "If that brother-in-law is really in Pustoshka, I must capture him alive."

"Should we report this to the Front Command?" Kapshkin reminded.
