Chapter 174 The cooperation of the North African situation

As soon as the car door opened, one body leaned in, grabbed Captain Smith's shoulders and pulled him out of the car and put it on the sand beside the car.

Captain Schacht couldn't help frowning when he saw Captain Smith's closed eyes, and hurriedly stretched out his fingers to shake his nose. Fortunately, he was still angry.

Captain Schacht took out the kettle he was carrying, unscrewed the cap and poured half of the water on Captain Smith's face.

Under the stimulation of cold water, Captain Smith shook his head slightly, twitched the corners of his mouth a few times, and then slowly opened his eyes.

"Sir Captain, it's time to wake up." Captain Schacht said, holding his arms and staring at Captain Smith, who was lying on the ground.

"I was ambushed by the Germans, thank you for saving..."

Captain Smith's words came to an abrupt end, staring at Captain Schacht with wide eyes, his eyes full of horror.

He heard a pure London-accented English in a daze, and thought he had met his own people. He subconsciously thought he was saved. After half of his words of thanks, he realized that he had had an unfunny misunderstanding.

"What do you want to thank me? Thank me for killing your subordinates? Or thank me for capturing you?"

Captain Schacht couldn't help but tease Captain Smith.

Captain Smith lay on the ground and was stunned for a while, then shook his head as if he had accepted his fate, and stood up.

After slapping his military uniform a few times to make his image more decent, Captain Smith said: "I am Captain Bill Smith, the British Army."

"Captain Smith, take your people and leave here with me. Don't do anything that makes me misunderstand." Captain Schacht said.

Captain Smith looked at the highway when he heard this. Fourteen or five scrap trucks were parked on the highway. Six of them were lit with fire, and rolling black smoke soared from the body of the car.

There were also six or seven truck wreckages on the sand on both sides of the road, and several corpses were lying in a row beside the wreckage of the truck. In the cab of the truck wreckage nearest him, the driver's body was covered by fire and black smoke, and the pungent smell of human flesh came from the air.

In addition to the wreckage, more than twenty armored vehicles were parked behind the highway, which was obviously the German army chasing from the town of Selum.

Captain Smith's eyes swept across the more than seventy captured subordinates, and then said dejectedly: "I will cooperate with you, Mr. Captain."

At 7 o'clock that night, in the private room of the most luxurious Sailing Hotel in Port Selum, Chen Dao warmly invited Captain Smith to sit opposite him.

After pouring Captain Smith a glass of white wine, Chen Dao said to Captain Smith in fluent American English: "Mr. Smith, this is a white wine from the town of Frascati, Italy. It has just been frozen. Don't you want to try it?"

Captain Smith could not stand Chen Dao's enthusiasm, so he had no choice but to pick up the wine glass to toast Chen Dao.

"Thank you for your kind hospitality, General Rosen."

After clinking the cup with Captain Smith, Chen Dao asked: "Do you want to return home as soon as possible? Mr. Smith."

Captain Smith couldn't help but smile bitterly.

"General Rosen. Of course I want to leave here and go back to England, but in my current identity..." Captain Smith shook his head with a wry smile.

"Don't be discouraged. Mr. Smith. If you can do me a favor, I promise you can spend Christmas this year with your family."

Captain Smith had a look of vigilance in his eyes, and then he said, "General Rosen, I am just a captain, what can I do for you?"

"There are only your troops in the port of Selum, which is too few. Where have the others gone? Sidibarani or elsewhere?"

Facing Chen Daojiujiu's divine gaze, Captain Smith's mouth twitched a few times, and then he remembered the abominable boss Major Terry. If it weren't for that abominable lust, he wouldn't have ended up like this.

If you are captured, you can't let that lustful stick be able to live.

With a strong revenge, Captain Smith nodded and said, "It's Sidibarani."

"How many troops are there?" Chen Dao asked.

"I don't know." Captain Smith replied simply.

"When my troops attack Selum, you led your subordinates to escape from the battlefield without firing a shot. Is your superior's order to warn you in Selum, and once you find out that we are attacking, you will immediately give up the position and retreat?" Chen Dao asked.

Captain Smith hesitated for a moment and said, "That's right."

"Where is your superior's order to retreat? Where is your last line of defense? I don't think you will retreat without restrictions. There will definitely be a final line of defense for resistance."

"The order given to me by my superiors is that if I am attacked, I can lead my subordinates to retreat to Sidibarani to join him. As for the final line of defense, I don't know. As you can see, General Rosen, I am just a captain, and I have no particularly important information to provide to you." Captain Smith said.

Chen Dao smiled at Captain Smith, and then said, "Okay, I'm not difficult for you. Let's talk about the important matter. Our attack on Egypt has just begun. As the war continues, more and more prisoners of the army will enter the prisoner-of-war camp we set up. In order to better manage this prisoner-of-war camp and make your army's prisoner-of-war prisoners live more comfortable, I need an officer from your army to assist our prisoner-of-war camp to manage this prisoner-of-war camp. You are the highest-ranking British man I have encountered in Egypt. I think it is more appropriate for you to come forward to assist me. This is easy to do. Please do not refuse."

"What exactly are you doing?" Captain Smith asked in confusion.

"The work content is very simple, which is to promptly report to the guards what the prisoners of war needs? And to help deal with the internal conflicts between prisoners of war. The most important thing is to eliminate the resistance in the hearts of prisoners of war, and not do any extreme behaviors. I don't want to bear the bad reputation of massacring prisoners of war."

"That's all?" Captain Smith asked in surprise.

"That's all. We don't want to waste too much manpower and energy on guarding prisoners of war, so I hope you can consciously abide by the prisoner-of-war camp discipline and not cause trouble for me." Chen Dao said.

Captain Smith stared at the wine glass on the table for a few seconds, but did not find anything inappropriate, so he happily picked up the wine glass to toast Chen Dao.

"I will do my best to cooperate with your work, General Rosen."

After having a hearty dinner with Captain Smith, Chen Daoyi turned around and appeared in front of Spelberg, the commander of DreamWorks Special Forces.

"I have found a suitable candidate, and he should be able to complete the tasks you assigned." Spelberg said to Chen Dao.

"Very good. You only have ten days to complete the preparations. If you have any requirements, I will try my best to satisfy you."

"Find ways to reduce the number of British people who know Captain Smith and minimize the risk," Spelberg said.

A day later, Captain Smith and his men moved into a simple prisoner of war camp northwest of Selum Harbor and met Captain Dustin Hoffman, the battalion commander of the prisoner of war camp.

Captain Dustin Hoffman is similar in figure to Captain Smith, he is enthusiastic and easy to talk to, and he almost meets all the requirements for Captain Smith's request to improve the treatment of prisoners of war.

Captain Hoffman prepared food and wine every night to invite Captain Smith to dinner, talking about various topics that both of them were interested in.

Captain Smith was initially careful about Captain Hoffman's problem so as not to be trapped with military secrets. Unexpectedly, after a few days of getting along, Captain Hoffman talked about basically nothing about military affairs. Even if there were, it was only at a very superficial level and there was no sign of getting information. Captain Smith gradually felt relieved and soon got along with the enthusiastic Captain Hoffman.

Captain Smith is increasingly immersed in the happy life of prisoners of war, but he does not pay attention to a small matter.
