Section 42: Escape from Baghdad

Escape from Baghdad in Chapter 42

Although he didn't believe Schwab's words, Mnidamu's little eyes were spinning. He was thinking about the purchasing ability of the merchant in front of him. Mnidamu had to admire his good luck. He just followed the Seljuk troops to plunder so much goods, and then there was a sucker to buy it.

"But I only want those children." Seeing Mnidamu's temptation, Schwab immediately explained his conditions, which made Mnidamu feel strange. Although there are merchants who specialize in purchasing children as slaves, all purchases are unprecedented, because these children cannot become labor immediately after they buy them back. Who would do such a loss-making business?

"Those children are not ordinary." Mnidamu touched his chin with his hand and stared at the strange businessman in front of him.

"Oh? Aren't it just Antiochs?" Schwab said with a smile.

"No, my friend, these children are of noble descent. Whether they are trained to be writers or soldiers, they are very good." Mnidamu didn't care what Schwab used to do with these children. He just hoped Schwab could pay more.

"Oh, that's it." Schwab had confirmed that the children in Mnidamu's hands were missing children of the nobles in the eastern Antioch Kingdom.

Mnidamu's lion asked Schwab to pay a large sum of money before he was willing to hand over the child to him. Schwab was very qualified as the commander of the army, but as a businessman, he was not very good at bargaining. After a long time of discussion, Schwab spoke so hard that he did not speak out that the greedy Mnidamu. In the end, Mnidamu actually stood up and left alone.

"This Mnidamu is really a wealth-guarding slave." Schwab returned to his residence and said to his subordinates.

"Sir, why not let us go in at night and rescue the children from the despicable slave merchants." The Teutonic Knights patted their swords one after another, and the impulsive Knights decided to complete this mission with force.

"If we just break in like this, we will definitely alarm the Seljuks, so how can we have the chance to return to Antioch?" Latina said to Schwab and others.

"But, what can we do? That hateful slave merchant wants so much money, but we can't afford it at all. What else can we do except grab it?" The Teutonic Knights said helplessly.

"Latina, what's the best way?" Schwab saw Latina's calm look and decided to ask her about her idea.

"It's better to go again, but take me with me this time." Latina said playfully pointing at herself.

"Oh? OK, then." Schwab had no good idea, so he nodded and agreed.

The next day, Schwab visited the slave merchant Mnidamu again, but this time he did not go alone, but took Latina with him.

"Why are you here again? Didn't you say it? That price will not change." Mnidamu frowned and looked at Schwab in front of him.

"If you can lower the price a little, I will repay you in the future." Schwab promised.

"I am a businessman, and other than Yinna Institute is useless." Mnidamu turned his head and looked at Schwab.

"Master, since this businessman doesn't want to, let's just go to another house." Just as Schwab and Mnidamu were arguing, Latina suddenly interrupted.

"Latina, I'm discussing the business with the merchant owner, and don't fight for the wrong thing." When Schwab faced Latina, he saw her blinking at him, knowing that she must have some idea. Although he scolded Latina, he did not let her retreat.

"Who is this?" Mnidamu saw the beautiful maid standing in front of him. Not only was her figure erect, but her eyes were exposed with a veil that were so stubborn that she was so thumping. The chubby slave trader Mnidamu had a mouth and her saliva was almost falling to the ground. She looked like a pig brother, and even Schwab felt amused when he saw it.

"This is my maid Latina," Schwab said.

"Oh, it's really good, I just don't know if I'm lucky enough to see you?" Mnidamu was a lustful person. He couldn't see the beautiful Latina himself.

"This?" Schwab looked at Latina, saw her nodding slightly, and agreed.

"What a beautiful face." When Latina smiled and unveiled the veil, Mnidamu's eyes were about to pop out. He held Latina's hand and was reluctant to let go.

"Well, if you can give your maid to me, sell the children to you at the price you said." Latina used a little trick to make Mnidamu fascinated. In order to get this beauty, Mnidamu finally agreed to give in on the price.

With the help of Latina, Schwab successfully rescued the children of the Antioch nobles. However, Schwab felt unbearable when he met Latina. He saw that Schwab looked solemn, Latina smiled.

"Sir, you don't look very happy." Latina asked in confusion as she looked at Schwab's sad face.

"Hey, Latina, you can still laugh. The slave merchant wants you to be his woman. What should I do now?" Schwab said, shaking his head.

"That's not bad. That big fat man is very rich. It's not bad to be a big businessman woman." Latina said with her shoulders and approaching Schwab's ears. The damp and hot air blew into Schwab's ears and made him itchy.

"Do you really like that big fat man?" Schwab said in disbelief, but he felt a little strange in his heart. Could it be that he was jealous?

"Haha, you're jealous." Latina keenly noticed the change in Schwab's face, and couldn't help but tease Schwab with a smile.

"Well, what nonsense, I'm worried about you. Now Mnidamu's people are waiting outside. If he doesn't get it, you won't give up." Schwab looked at the farmhouse, and the one hundred caravans riding horses. Mnidamu attached great importance to Latina and actually dispatched all his cavalry.

"Don't worry, you bring those children back to Antioch, as for me, I will meet you." Latina said confidently.

"You?" Schwab asked in disbelief.

"Don't worry." After Latina said that, she followed the caravans and cavalrymen of Mnidamu to return to the city. Schwab had no choice but to retreat to Antioch with her knights and children. The desert was still very dangerous. Schwab and others walked for several days before finding an oasis, but there were already people waiting there.

"It's you?" Schwab saw Latina dressed in a light cavalry and tied the horse to the tree. The Teutonic knights cheered when they saw Latina safe and sound.

"Sir, I finally found you." Latina unveiled her veil and said to Schwab and others with a smile.

"Latina, how did you escape Mnidamu?" After meeting, Schwab asked curiously. As a slave merchant, of course, he had a considerable armed force, so how could he easily let a woman escape?

"I said not to underestimate me, but the Count is not the time to speak now. We must leave here immediately, because the caravans and cavalry under Mnidamu are chasing me from behind, and we must escape them." Latina said to Schwab.

"Latina, there is sand and dust behind it, as if the cavalry were approaching." At this time, three desert riders riding horses rushed over and said.

"Who are they?" Schwab asked curiously.

"Is it a friend I met in Baghdad before. How many are they?" Latina asked loudly.

"I don't know, there should be one hundred cavalry."

"It's okay, Latina, I will take the Teutonic Knights to fight them, you and the children will go first." Schwab immediately rode on his horse and pulled out his sword and said.

"No, I'm going too." Latina said without fear, then untied the reins of the horse, rode on the horse and pulled out the scimitar. The Teutonic Knights had already itched. Although they were not wearing plate armor, it did not mean that their martial arts were rusted.

After a while, dozens of caravan cavalry rushed over from the direction of Baghdad. They were Mnidamu's subordinates. When Mnidamu was excitedly waiting for the little beauty in his room, he was knocked unconscious by Latina and tied up. Then after Latina calmly left Baghdad, Mnidamu was discovered by his servants. He was so angry that he immediately ordered his caravan cavalry to capture Latina, and the Antioch merchants who deceived him.

"Teutonic knights, charge, grass." Schwab hadn't charged on the battlefield happily for a long time. He pointed his sword straight at the caravan cavalry rushing over, then clamped the belly of the horse and charged. The horse's hooves lifted up a wave of sand and dug out a small pit on the sand. The Teutonic knights shouted wildly, wielding the sword above their heads and rushing towards the enemy.

Both sides were warriors who believed they were elite, and their formations quickly collided. Although the Teutonic Knights were small, they shouted loudly, and the swords in their hands were fast and sharp. The caravan cavalry who could only capture some captives were not opponents at all.

"These guys are not merchants at all, they are knights." The captain of the caravan cavalry used a shield to block the attack of a Teutonic knight. He gritted his teeth and said angrily. Because of the negligence of intelligence, the soldiers he led were not equipped with armor. In order to capture the escaped women and merchants as soon as possible, they did not bring anything except scimitars and shields. This was particularly disadvantageous in close attacks, and they were also against the fierce knights.

"Latina finds an opportunity to leave. The number of enemies is large, and we can't last long." Schwab waved his sword, attacked left and right and cut off the caravan cavalry from the horse, but the number of enemies is too large, and he often gets attacked from behind if he is not careful.

While the two sides were fighting on the sand, they didn't notice that the sky was particularly strange. The vultures that were hovering in the air just now fled without a trace, and the air flowed quickly, as if something was wrong was about to happen.
