Chapter 7 K2 Level Civilization

There is an obvious fact in front of Zhao Huasheng and all humans on earth, that is, the most basic law of conservation of mass and energy. This law shows that energy cannot disappear for no reason. Therefore, if some kind of blocking substance appears in the solar sphere, then... where did the blocked energy go?

Perhaps the barrier substance forms a heat absorption layer, but the radiation power of the entire sun is very terrifying. What kind of heat absorption layer can withstand such a huge energy impact?

A word emerged in Zhao Huasheng's mind, Dyson Ball.

Dyson's sphere is a virtual sphere that completely utilizes the energy of the sun in human civilization. This virtual sphere can be composed of many lenses that completely wrap a whole star and completely absorb the energy it radiates.

The Kardashov Index divides the possible civilizations in the universe into three levels, namely K1, K2, and K3. The K1-level civilization can use the energy of a whole planet, the K2-level civilization can use the energy of a whole star, and the K3-level civilization can use the energy of a whole river. According to the Kardashov Index, the Dyson Ball is the most iconic product of the K2-level civilization. Obviously, if the Dyson Ball is created, the energy of a whole star can be used. If the inferred heat absorption layer really exists in the photosphere layer of the sun, is it a type of Dyson Ball?

One thing to point out is that according to the grading standards of the Kardashov index, the human civilization on Earth at this moment is only a level K0.7 civilization, and it is still a lot away from Dyson Ball. If a civilization really comes to the sun and creates a Dyson Ball around the sun to try to collect all the energy of the sun... Then, with the strength of level K0.7 in human civilization, it is impossible to fight against a level K2 civilization no matter what.

If this is true, then this is undoubtedly the end of human civilization.

"Fortunately this is just a preliminary inference, and it is unlikely to be true." Zhao Huasheng thought, "The physical world has some commonalities. Even a K2-level civilization that is much more advanced than us is unlikely to violate some basic physical laws. Just like today, when relativity has made great progress, the law of universal gravitation is still in use. If it is really a Dyson ball, it will inevitably have subsequent energy harvesting devices, and we have not observed the existence of the energy harvesting device at this moment."

"The Mercury probe of Thunderstorm has changed its forward orbit and is rushing to the other side of the sun at full speed. In about five days, we will get accurate information from the back of the sun... Let's talk about everything until then." Zhao Huasheng sighed and put down the information in his hand.

Zhao Huasheng stood up and walked to the window.

A bright red sun was hanging under the western sky, and it was already evening. The air conditioner in the room was not turned on, so Zhao Huasheng, who came back from the information file, immediately felt a chill. The pedestrians on the street were all in a hurry, and even the flashing neon lights looked like a bleak feeling for some reason.

Meng Zhuo was still missing, and he didn't know where he was hiding. Zhao Huasheng ignored him and just took a piece of bread and swallowed it down. Then he sat in front of the computer again.

This time, Zhao Huasheng did not check some information or other things, but came to several more famous forums.

After casually looking through some posts complaining about the abnormal weather recently, Zhao Huasheng refreshed the page and a title jumped into Zhao Huasheng's eyes.

"The recent abnormal temperature drop is not due to climate! It is the reduction of solar radiation levels!"

Zhao Huasheng frowned and clicked on the post.

There is no specific observation data in the post. The poster claimed that he was an astronomical enthusiast and had a set of solar observation equipment. At some point he pointed the observation instrument at the sun. After detailed observation and calculation, he came to this conclusion. At the end of the post, the poster wrote in a very horrifying tone: "The government must have known these things, but the government concealed it. We have reason to suspect that the government is doing some actions in secret. As for whether these actions are built underground shelters or population screening plans, it is unknown. In short, the government is no longer reliable now, and all we can do is save ourselves! From now on, try to store as much food, water and fuel as possible, and the end of the earth is coming!"

There were some people who expressed doubts and some people who laughed at the reply below, and basically no one believed these words. But Zhao Huasheng's worries became increasingly serious.

This matter cannot be hidden for a long time. It is very simple. Observing changes in solar radiation intensity is not something that requires a high-end device and theory to do. Any senior astronomy enthusiast can also draw this conclusion if they really spend some time to observe the sun in detail. The government can monopolize all communication channels, but the government has no way to monopolize knowledge.

Zhao Huasheng came to a certain astronomical forum known for his professionalism. The speech here verified Zhao Huasheng's idea. Here, "reducing solar radiation intensity" has basically become a recognized thing, but the people here obviously did not have much information. What they were discussing was the formation mechanism of this incident and the physical principles behind it.

They still regard this incident as a normal solar activity process and have not doubted other aspects.

"But...if the solar radiation level can never rise, they will think of that point sooner or later. At that time, the information will spread to the entire society with the source of personnel with professional astronomy, and everyone will know these things. This process is irresistible and irreversible. At that time... I don't know how many riots will break out in society, and I don't know how many people will die."

"I hope the handling center is ready to deal with the riots... I hope that the construction of large-scale shelter near the equator can be completed before the riots are uncontrollable." Zhao Huasheng sighed deeply and turned off the computer.

It was already eight or nine o'clock. For Xia Ye, it was still early. But Zhao Huasheng was not interested in doing other things. Zhao Huasheng washed up briefly and lay on the bed.

Zhao Huasheng has a habit, which is that he likes to lie in bed before falling asleep at night thinking about things, integrate the information he receives throughout the day, and dig deep into the inspiration that occasionally pops up during the day. Now, Zhao Huasheng hopes that he can draw a conclusion by sorting out the information he gets during the day at the most efficient moment of this day.

But unfortunately, Zhao Huasheng's thoughtful thinking did not achieve any effect. This thinking seriously affected Zhao Huasheng's sleep. Whenever Zhao Huasheng closed his eyes, a scene would appear in his mind. In this scene, heavy snow was falling and cold wind kept blowing. People with tired faces draped all the clothes they could find on their bodies but still couldn't resist the invasion of the cold. As they walked, someone suddenly fell down and died. The surviving people fought for even a little food or fuel. Life was so humble and so worth mentioning in this scene.

That is hell, that is the most cruel hell that humans can imagine. Civilizations disappear, order collapses, and people degenerate into pure beasts who have no moral etiquette, no laws and conscience, and can do anything for survival... That is the end of the entire civilization. No, it is not just human civilization, it is the end of all life on the earth.

A sense of mission and responsibility forced Zhao Huasheng to stay awake, and forced Zhao Huasheng to spin his brain desperately and try to think about ways to change all this. So until the early morning, Zhao Huasheng still did not fall asleep.

The sun once again completed its own cycle and emerged from under the horizon again, sprinkling its already faint light and heat towards the earth. The cool morning breeze blew towards Zhao Huasheng from the open window, causing Zhao Huasheng to wrap his quilt tightly again.

Never before, this moment made Zhao Huasheng feel that the sunshine and warmth were so important. For the past four billion years, the earth has been bathed in stable light and heat from the sun. It is even stable so that all life on the earth ignores its existence and regards it as something for granted. Until it begins to show signs of disappearing, life on Earth, including humans, can truly realize its preciousness.

Because sunshine means life. Without sunshine, there is no life.

Zhao Huasheng lifted the quilt and exposed his chest to the slightly cold air in the morning. Zhao Huasheng's face was undressed, unshaven, pale and haggard, but Zhao Huasheng's eyes were very bright. There was a force emitted from the depths of his heart supporting Zhao Huasheng's body. Zhao Huasheng got up and washed his face casually, without even combing his hair or brushing his teeth.

"Meng Zhuo, are you there?" Zhao Huasheng shouted to the empty room.

"I'm here." Meng Zhuo, who looked indifferent, had no expression, was still straight and his clothes were still neat, walked out of the balcony.

Zhao Huasheng has long been used to Meng Zhuo's elusiveness. It seems that no matter when Zhao Huasheng calls on Meng Zhuo, Meng Zhuo will immediately dress neatly and appear in front of Zhao Huasheng with an indifferent look on his face.

"Driving, take me to the research institute, I'm going to find something..." Zhao Huasheng said.
