Chapter 537: Ocean Threat

The Newland Navy and the Royal Bran Navy have already figured out the way for escorting anti-submarine operations.

The key is actually to escort the aircraft carrier.

In anti-submarine operations with escort aircraft carriers as the core, what we pursue is not to sink submarines, but to drive away submarines and prevent submarines from getting close to the fleet.

Here, the carrier-based patrol aircraft are mainly relied on.

Usually, the escort aircraft carrier will expand the anti-submarine search range to more than 300 kilometers during the day, and the patrol range in front of the route will even reach 500 kilometers. Try to increase the patrol density and focus on searching for the 60-degree waters ahead of the route, so that nearby submarines dare not venture closer during the day.

At night, even if the submarine catches up at full speed in a floating state, it may not be able to catch up with the transport fleet.

Don’t forget that the speed of the submarine is not too fast, and it is difficult to shorten the distance from the fleet at night.

Moreover, before deciding to launch an attack, the submarine captain must consider how to evacuate after the attack is successful. Generally, the attack time will be set around the early morning, leaving 6 hours, and at least 4 hours of retreat time to ensure that the combat waters are left before dawn.

I can't catch up with the fleet, so I naturally can't launch an attack.

That's why escort aircraft carriers have always been the mainstay of escort anti-submarine.

Generally speaking, there are 2 to 4 escort aircraft carriers in each transport fleet. The specific number is mainly determined by the size of the fleet. When the transport ship is less than 30, it usually only needs 2 escort aircraft carriers, and more than 50, at least 4 must be arranged.

It’s not that there are many ships and the scope of cover is larger, but that the larger the fleet, the more likely it is to be ambushed by submarines, and the more anti-submarine searches are needed.

In the first half of the year, the escort aircraft carriers were put into service in large quantities, which effectively curbed the Tsuman submarines.

Especially in the second quarter, the probability of the fleet being attacked was reduced by 60%, the losses were reduced by 70%, and more than 20 Tuman submarines were sunk.

Unfortunately, the good times didn't last long.

It is not that the Torman submarine has become more powerful or that it has found a tactic to deal with escort aircraft carriers, but that the Newland Navy has sent a large number of escort aircraft carriers to the southwest east ocean.

If you want to say it, it is related to the Battle of the Southwest Fanyan Ocean.

At that time, including Lofos, the senior executives of Newland were extremely disappointed with the Kingdom of Bran. Even if they did not break up, they no longer regarded the Kingdom of Bran as an indispensable ally.

To be honest, at the end of the naval war, the Newland authorities actually gave up on the Kingdom of Bran and felt that it was almost the same whether there was such an ally.

Against this backdrop, the Newland Navy increased its investment in the southwest-eastern ocean.

According to the situation at that time, as long as the Liangxia Empire could be induced or forced to march into the southwest and attacked Austria, even if the Kingdom of Bran had been defeated and surrendered, the Newland Federation could hold on. At least after the situation was stable, it could force the alliance group to sit down and negotiate through a continuous war of attrition.

If you want to say it, this is the best result that can be achieved after the Battle of the Southwest Fanyan Ocean.

To this end, two-thirds of the escort aircraft carriers that were originally performing escort missions on the Northern Fanyan Ocean were sent to the southwest and eastward.

These escort aircraft carriers are not only responsible for covering the transport fleet to Australia, but also act as aircraft transport ships, transporting combat aircraft to island bases in the southwest and east.

It is precisely through these escort aircraft carriers that the Newland Navy was able to rapidly enhance the defense deployment of the southwest east ocean.

Of course, it is also related to Liang Xia's Navy's destruction and war.

As mentioned earlier, Liang Xia's submarine force has developed, and it mainly carries out missions in the southwest east ocean.

So far, hundreds of Liangxia submarines have been moving in the southwest east-west ocean.

Of course, only one-third of the combat readiness patrols are at most, and perhaps only one-quarter of them, and the actual deployment of submarines is about 30.

Even so, it is a threat that cannot be underestimated.

Although the losses in the southwest east ocean are not too great thanks to the island base near the route, as well as the long-range patrol aircraft deployed at the island base, and the main purpose of rapid transport ships, the losses in the southwest east ocean are not too great, but the large number of Liangxia submarines still put huge pressure on anti-submarine escort.

Of course, the only way for the Newland Navy is to increase anti-submarine investment.

In the northeast, and to the west of the Wangxi Canal, there are also submarine threats, and warships need to be arranged to provide escort cover for the fleet.

Among them, there are several Liangxia submarines at any time near the route from Newland's local west coast to Zhenbao Port.

Although these submarines are mainly ships that forget the passing, they will never be ruthless when encountering single transport ships.

Not to mention ships, even ships will be killed.

Just last month, a light cruiser that was damaged in the transit island was attacked by Liang Xia's submarine on his way back to his local west coast and was sunk by torpedo.

After Liang Xia's Navy attacked the Transit Island, the number of Liang Xia submarines operating in the Northeastern Ocean increased significantly.

Obviously, even if the long-range patrol aircraft deployed at both ends of the route, namely the local West Coast and the Hovay Islands, can provide some cover for the fleet, it does not mean that warships can be sent to escort. After all, it is difficult for patrol aircraft to deal with submarines quietly approaching the fleet at night.

The key is that in the northeastern ocean, we have to face the battleship cruiser.

Even after increasing investment, the losses did not decrease.

In the past six months, Newland Federation has lost nearly 500 cargo ships in the Viagra, most of which were 10,000 tons of ships built in large quantities after the outbreak of the war.

Although it is much less than that of Xiluoyang by unit loss, the routes on the East Ocean are longer, and the absolute value of the loss exceeds that of Beixioyang.

The Newland Navy's focus was not entirely an act of impulse, but also a forced choice.

In Niz's words, if we do not increase our investment in the East Ocean, the Newland Navy may have lost control of the Southwest Ocean in the middle of the year.

If the weapons, equipment and combat materials, especially engineering materials were not delivered in time, they would definitely not be able to build so many fortifications on the transit island, and they would not be able to withstand the attack of Liang Xia's army. After the transit island was lost, it would be inevitable that Zhenbao Port would be attacked.

Under the premise that the East Viagra is the most important, anti-submarine investment in the East Viagra cannot be reduced in any case.

There is no question of strengthening the anti-submarine forces on the Beixi Luoyang.

In addition, the performance of the Royal Bran Navy really makes people lose their glasses.

Also after the Battle of the Southwest Fanyan Ocean, the activity intensity of the Royal Bran Navy's local fleet was greatly reduced, and the blockade and control of the North Sea became a decoration.

Otherwise, those Tyman submarine support ships disguised as ships from other countries would not have been able to enter the Beixi Lake Ocean in broad daylight.

The reason given by the Royal Bran Navy was that it was impossible to provide air cover for ships that were going to sea.

Although it is a reason, it is very far-fetched.

At least in the waters near Bran, the shore-based aviation force can provide cover for the fleet and block several major waterways.

In a sense, the Royal Bran Navy had to bear the main responsibility for the Tyman submarine.

What to say is related to the conflict of interest within the alliance for several days.

The direct result of this is that the construction of two 10,000-ton transport ships nicknamed "Free Wheel" and "Victory Wheel" must be accelerated.

Shipping losses are offset by expanding construction volume!
