The thirty-sixth death festival

Chapter 36: Death Day

That was a terrible scene like the end of the world.

Countless black mutants stood up again from the pile of dead corpses. Dirty rotten meat and yellow-green pus accumulated over the city depression. The dried blood exuded a strong silt. The thick white bones and the frozen despair on the faces of the dead became the freeze of the picture under the gloomy sky.

Indonesia, South Africa, China, India... all these countries were included in the first attack list of "Punishment of Heavenly Fire" by the Knights.

Hogan has not counted how many victims were. He just tried his best to explore the secrets of the "Skeleton Knights" under the influence of curiosity.

This is a secret organization affiliated with the "NATO" military group. Germany, Britain, France, Canada, Italy and other countries have personnel involved. However, the ultimate dominant authority is firmly in the hands of the Americans.

Perhaps out of pity or conscience, Huo Cian wanted to give Lin Xiang a vague reminder in negotiations. He knew very well that as the German government in the circle of interests, it was impossible for him to exchange Merck's technology with China. But he never dreamed that that terrible virus would appear in the capital of his country...

"We were betrayed-"

Staring with red eyes, Hogan's face twisted into a ferocious look: "The Skeleton Knights, they are the real enemies of this world. The so-called Houston disaster is simply a lie. I am so naive. Those guys even use their own citizens as experimental items. What else can't they do?"

He stood up from the ground with a swaying look at the entrance of the building that was enclosed by all-steel armored plates, and pointed to the walking stairs on the left side of the hall: "From here, there are two helicopters used in an emergency. I believe that the guys in the parliament will no longer use various excuses to hinder your negotiations. After all, we now have a common enemy."

Lin Xiang was silent for a moment, raised the injured Fang Yujie from the wall, sighed, and said softly: "Aren't you going to go with us?"

"Everyone in the Hoffman family is a knight. Only blood can wash away the shame on the knight-"

After saying that, the Lieutenant Colonel put on his black military uniform, carefully dusted off the dust on the brim of the hat, and walked through the sheltering crowd in the hall with a steady and resolute pace. He walked to the electronic controller in front of the side door, and quickly pressed a string of numbers on the green keyboard. Amid the dull mechanical sound, a small mouth was exposed on the thick protective panel that only allows individuals to pass through.

The corpse wandering around immediately surrounded them. Hogan's strong body was obviously full of temptation for them. He was a human mutant creature a few hours ago and had long forgotten his true identity. They dragged their heavy steps, tilted their bodies as far as possible, and stretched their fingertips to an unimaginable level. Only in this way can they be closer to their prey and can bite the tender and delicious fresh meat faster.

The members of the delegation had already rushed up the stairs, and Lin Xiang walked at the end of the team as usual. Just as he was about to step onto the steps, he suddenly turned his head and roared wildly in the direction of the door: "Hogan--"

The lieutenant colonel stopped, but did not turn around. He just stretched out his right hand and raised it high above his head, gently swinging it left and right.

This is the last greeting of a lonely man.

Crossing the steel trough under the door wall, the slowly rising armored protective plate sealed the last road. In front of them, thousands of living zombies rushed over like tides. They had been hungry for too long, and even if there was only one bite of food to their mouths, they had to do their best.

"Take your dirty souls to hell--"

Hogan stood there straight, with snow-white teeth showing between his angry lips. He stared at the group of corpses closer and closer, until his fingers covered in blood and pus were about to touch his body, and when the air smelled at his nostrils was also full of disgusting and odor, he clenched his fists and smashed them hard at the head of the closest corpse.

"Bang--"

The huge impact force hit the living zombies and flew back more than ten meters away. The head that could not be connected to the body was like a ripe watermelon splattering in the air. The blood spurted out from the wound soaked the lieutenant colonel's fist, warm, slippery, and very uncomfortable.

The death of individuals did not stop the craziest corpse groups. They were not afraid of life and death and rushed forward, filling the gaps on the ground that were not too many.

On the roof, two fully loaded "Black Hawk" helicopters were slowly sailing away from the white "h"-shaped platform. Lin Xiang poked his head out of the half-open hatch door and looked sadly at the human-shaped black dot under his feet that was about to be swallowed by countless mutant creatures.

No matter how strong the parasite is, it cannot withstand thousands of living zombies. It is like a brave mongoose that cannot withstand groups of mice...

Just as the plane accelerated, Lin Xiang clearly heard the last roar of Lieutenant Colonel Hogan from the ground hundreds of meters away.

"Long live the will of Great Germany! Long live the motherland...——"

Not only Berlin, Paris, London, Tokyo, Moscow, Ottawa... Almost all the capitals and important cities of all countries were attacked by viruses at the same time. Thousands of resurrected corpses occupied every street of the city, chasing and biting all lives that could be regarded as prey, and in the screams of shrill and fear, they tasted and devoured the bodies that were once their own kind.

United States, New York, Midtown East Riverside.

Sixty-four-year-old Ella Marcoline, wearing a black shirt in a zipper, walked through the huge circular conference hall along the passage. Under the gaze of countless eyes, she slowly walked up to the pomelo yellow podium, stretched out her dry wrinkled fingers, and gently touched the earth pattern carved on the table with an olive branch.

Since she was the first female secretary-general of the United Nations two years ago, she has never been alienated and disgusted by this familiar sign as she is now.

Ella was a nun. Her devotion and faith in God made her firmly believe that honesty was the most precious virtue of mankind. However, just a few hours ago, she discovered for the first time that this world should have been beautiful was full of filth and filth.

Under man-made transmission, the virus raging in Asia and South America has spread all over the world.

All representatives of the member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization were intricately placed in the center of the venue. Behind them, hundreds of representatives of various countries were looking at them coldly. The pair of eyes of different colors were filled with fire-like anger and uncontrollable grief.

All countries have been attacked by terrible viruses. According to incomplete statistics, more than half of the Earth's population is infected. The omnipresent virus is madly devouring all the parasites that can be captured. Cattle, sheep, pigs, horses, cats, dogs, and even mice have shown signs of mutation. In just a few hours, the dead living organisms will be resurrected again and become terrible members of the hunting army.

"NATO" is the root of all disasters.

Such a judgment seems too one-sided. After all, the NATO member states did not survive this disaster. They were also attacked. Especially in Britain, where the population is most densely distributed, the entire city of London has become a dead city within 24 hours. The caught off guard British royal family was not spared in the face of a sudden biochemical attack. Except for the old queen Elizabeth, who is over 90 years old and the six-year-old prince Charlie, all the royal members, including King Charles, have become rotten monsters.

At the warning of Sister Ella, the staff next to them pressed the satellite surveillance screen on the wall.

In Shinjuku Kabukicho, Tokyo, countless young women in hot bodies were strolling on the streets. Their steps were staggering, and their slender high heels and almost naked thighs were enough to attract the sight of any man. The faces covered with thick cosmetics were covered with bright red blood, and there were eye-catching scratches on the breasts on their chests. Between their sexy and rosy lips, there were pieces of carrion that had not been completely swallowed.

In the Paris Eiffel Tower, several survivors were climbing desperately toward the top of the tower along the stairs. Behind them, the dense group of corpses squeezed the narrow passage and was shaking. A few minutes later, the people who had nowhere to escape were already standing on the highest beam on the spire of the tower. Looking at the hideous faces that were getting closer and closer, they closed their eyes in despair and jumped down in a sharp scream.

In the Vatican Cathedral, the thick carved door wrapped in bronze slanted to the ground, the silver statue was overthrown, just in front of the Cross of Jesus' Passion, the Pope in the robes was surrounded by several scarred bishops, and he tried his best to recite the last prayer. The sticky blood splattered in the eyes of the statue of the Virgin, as if red tears were flowing down...

There is only one country that has not been attacked - the United States of America.

Looking at the US representative sitting on the permanent membership, Sister Ella, whose lips trembled, said word by word: "Now, everyone vote!"

“Agree!”

“Agree!”

“Agree!”

All member states unanimously agree, which is an extremely rare scene in the history of the United Nations. This indicates that in the face of this unprecedented disaster, human forces are all united to fight the threat of the virus.
