Chapter 454: The Road to Adonis (1)

(Notes of a traveler)

It is Sunday, March 21, 2021. My readers, I am in Paris, preparing to retake the famous "Adonis" path.

Everyone, although I come from an ancient country with thousands of years of history, for the Europa, whether it is love, romance, or heavy but prosperous history, there is nothing else that people can pursue except France, or in other words, except France under the rule of the Sun King.

When I was in Paris and Versailles, I had already visited the final destination of the French royal family, the Cathedral of Saint-Danny, and had also strolled in the dove garden where Mrs. Montespan was most often lingering. I had the honor to visit the St. Jakarta Women's Monastery where Mrs. Obinje was invisible and practiced. It was also the location of the first women's university in France. The Duke of Monponcier and the Duchess of Orleans were also the host and sponsor of this school. It is said that they had also worked as teachers and students here. Their statues - together with Mrs. Obinje, Mrs. Lafayette, and the former Queen of Sweden Christina, and other famous women at that time - stood in the center of a huge pool in the image of the Nine Goddess of Muse.

It is said that the statue of the Sun God should have been standing, but for well-known reasons (please allow me to laugh a little), the Sun King Louis XIV at that time did not arrange such a scene for the sake of the reputation of the ladies. However, in unofficial history and legends, there have always been a convincing words. Among these nine muses, at least three ladies did have a beautiful love story with the king.

The first thing to bear is Madame Orbinie, the founder of the university. She has always been said to be the king's secret "Mrs. The king has never been publicly recognized by law and has insisted on holding an unknown wedding with her in the last stage of her life, but I think... this should be unlikely.

After Louis XIV created an extremely large and brilliant kingdom, he was nearly sixty years old. After a grand triumphal ceremony, he built the Palace of Trianon on one side of Versailles. This palace uses a lot of marble and ceramics. I am not saying that in terms of decorations and utensils, the Sun King is a person who attaches great importance to personal hygiene. Versailles is the first palace in Europa with a complete and detailed water supply system. Each suite has independent sanitation facilities. Public spaces such as Venus Hall also have attached bathrooms. But the bathrooms of Versailles still follow the style of the time. The walls and floors are made of wooden, the utensils are brass, and most of Trianon use ceramics.

Before Louis XIV, although the ceramic industry in France was also famous, it was never comparable to the ceramics of the East. It is said that because of the different soils, it was difficult for Europa's ceramics to fire beautiful colors, and their colors and feels different. However, at the request of the Sun King, his scholars dug out the soil that once belonged to oriental ceramics for him in Limozan. Therefore, the Limoghes who worked for the king when building the Palace of Versailles naturally transformed their wood and metal workshops into ceramic workshops or workshops.

Since then, France's ceramic industry has taken off rapidly as if it had wings, even surpassing the original glass industry. Ceramics have gone from luxury decorations to expensive daily necessities... For people at that time.

The bathroom in Trianon Palace is still miraculously available after five hundred years. Of course, ordinary tourists cannot use it - but every once in a while, librarians will open the washbasin one by one like opening the water valve of the fountain pool, and display the faucets of the toilet and bathtub for tourists to watch. At that time, the washing equipment was almost the same as ours now, but it was much more exquisite and gorgeous.

In addition to the bathroom, the Trianon Palace also had various decorations such as ceramic vases, parquets, sculptures, etc., which were produced by France and came from the far east. The most remarkable of these was the gifts brought by the Ming delegation after the Ming Empire established diplomatic relations with France at that time - two huge dragon bottles, which could almost hold the next adult male.

Ah, please forgive me for walking a little further here - I want to say that, as people say, the Louvre is the black iron branches of the French palace complex, the Fontainebleau has silver leaves, the Versailles has gold and diamond flowers, then this Trianon is the fruit of ivory. When you walk among the dark floors, wall panels and soft porcelain, all you can feel is a kind of peace and tranquility for no reason.

This was what the Sun King might need at that time, and in this palace, there was no room for the royal wife or ambiguous person except him, only the Queen Mother, the Queen and the Prince of Orleans, among which Queen Teresa's room was only one door separated from the King's room. They spent the last thirty years of their lives here, and Queen Teresa's death was only six months apart.

The Sun King may not have love for the queen, but he always maintained a 120,000 respect and trust for her. This was something that no one at that time could deny. Even during the war between France and Spain, the queen was always sheltered under the king's wings. Whether it was the king's wife, the Duchess of Orleans, the Duchess of Monponcier, or the king's royal wife... except the Queen Mother, no one could surpass her in the Palace of Versailles.

Six months after Queen Teresa's death, in order to mourn her wife, the Sun King has been wearing black clothes, black agate, black opal or coal jade jewelry. For several weeks, Trianon and Versailles had never held a dance party. Playwright Molière wrote in his diary that a melancholy atmosphere covered everyone's heart like the veil of a depressed person.

If we say that during these six months, Louis XIV would impulsively hold the so-called "secret wedding" with another woman. Even if he said that he was trying to send away the pain caused by his wife's death, it would be hard for me to believe that not only considering emotions but also from personal morality and self-discipline, the Sun King would not leave such a dark spot on himself at the last moment of his life.

Among the letters displayed by the royal family, the interactions between the king and Madame Obinette were extremely rational and even cold. Rather than saying that this lady had an affair with the king, they were more like kings and ministers, or envoys. For a period of time, Madame Obinette was obviously lingering in Paris and Versailles as a messenger of the church or Innocent XI.

There was no suspected sign of pregnancy or childbirth.

However, one of my French friends, whose name is Louis. This Louis said, there were two statues, one of which was raised, half-covered by a raised robe, and the other half-lying on the ground with his eyes closed, looking like he was taking a nap. The first was Madame Miledy, who was often named in the legend - a writer wrote her into the book and wrote her as Bishop Mazaran's spy. In fact, this lady was more likely to be a spy of Louis XIV and went to the Italian court in the last few years - given that the new king of Italy was very likely to have an extremely close relationship with the Bourbon family, she might have just changed her job place.

The latter, we all know, has an ancient tradition between Europa sculptors and painters. Although it is no longer available in modern times, at that time, painting or sculpting a person into falling asleep means that the person is dead.

This lady was also a royal lady who had not been officially recognized. It is said that she had a secret wedding with the king - I think it is very likely, because they were all very young during the secret wedding, just like Romeo and Juliet, one sixteen years old and the other fourteen years old, young and childhood sweetheart - Mary Mancini once grew up with Louis XIV in Anghlai, Germany.

There is also yes, yes, sorry, I cannot say clearly here - that beautiful young man, originally the Duke of Colonna and the son-in-law of the daughter of the Grand Duke of Tuscany and the Duke of Gaston, certainly gave him an orthodox proof to seek domination over Naples and even Italy as a whole, but people agreed that he should be the son of Louis XIV and Mary Mancini, and Louis XIV would spare no effort to pave a bright and smooth road for him in the next twenty or thirty years.

Also, we all know that every year on the birth of the Sun King, the Bourbon family has a private family gathering. Well, every time that time period, the royal members of this peninsula will disappear for a while for various reasons...

Well, I won't say much about this question. The love component of this group statue is completely inferior to that of Paris or other places in Versailles, such as the small chapel built by Louis XV and Queen Isabella by the Grand Canal, the suite of the Bastille (who allows his wife to follow her husband, or his husband to serve his sentence), the kiss marks and touching traces left by ladies and men on the statues of Maupassant... I have admired and admired these. Finally, like many people, I am preparing to embark on the road of pilgrimage that belongs only to my lover - the Road to Adonis.

Adonis is the god of spring and plants in Greek mythology. He was loved by two goddesses, Queen Mother and the God of Love. Unfortunately, he was beaten to death by a wild boar during a hunt. At that time, the god of love Aphrodite knew about this and ran barefoot to the place where he died. A toes were thorns all the way, and the blood left behind was stained with white roses. From then on, there were red roses in the world...

The red rose has become the flower of people's love.

But maybe it is because I often think too much, or it is possible that it seems that I am the only one at the gathering point... I always feel that this road has nothing to do with love except blood.

Anyone who has read history books knows that in the war of inheritance of the throne in Spain, King William I of Prussia was a model of the weather vane. He swung left and right between the French king and the Holy Roman emperor and worshipped him everywhere, and actually achieved many benefits for himself and his country. Perhaps someone despised his behavior, because from a legal perspective, he should be loyal to Emperor Leopold I. Morally, he should be loyal to his in-laws Louis XIV. While this king, he got permission to be promoted from the principality to the kingdom, he also told Louis XIV and his brother, that is, his son's father-in-law, that he would temporarily choose "neutral" - hell-like neutrality.

But you must also admit that William I's shamelessness and rogue did lay a solid foundation for future Prussia. His country was the least affected in this war, but he received no less benefits than anyone else. His son married the eldest daughter of the Duke of Orleans, who had the most wealth of France, and a territory specially given by the French king. Not only that, the princess was young, beautiful, intelligent and visionary.

Not to mention this marriage abroad, even in China, there are countless opponents.

Even though Leopold I was promised to take half of the princess' dowry to repay his heavy debt to France, he was still hesitant and resentful. No one knew whether he would suddenly have any bad thoughts. As for other anti-French allies, or Prussian enemies, they did not want to see the marriage succeed; the nobles in France were unwilling to see the princess fall to other families with this generous dowry.
