Chapter 16 Letters

Downey drove the car and drove from the suburbs to New York City. New York is still prosperous, with tall buildings lined up one after another and covered with stars. On the streets, people hurried past, busy with their own affairs.

This is the norm in New York City. If you want to live in this international metropolis, a fast-paced lifestyle is essential. Even if you break through the sky, you cannot stop the daily life of New York citizens at three points and one line.

From time to time, you can see parades in New York City, or someone is carrying a loudspeaker on the roadside to give speeches, which is also the norm.

This "normal" happened to something unexpected today.

A large circle of people surrounded the city, and the citizens watched strongly.

A dry thin man stood on the stage, as if a gust of wind could blow down. Anyone believed that any punch could fuck the thin man.

The thin man delivered a speech, claiming that he was the strongest mercenary in the world and had outstanding achievements.

"Don't you know that Downey? It's the mutant who has been very popular recently? That's my defeated man!" The thin man said shamelessly, with his tone of toughness, as if he was confident.

People disbelief and pointed at him. Donnie was surprised that this guy was still alive, but his face turned dark after hearing this.

"Don't you believe it? Just a while ago, the mutant was beaten to run away with his head and knew that? I did it!" The thin man made a move to slap the ball and said with striking words, "I only used one hand, and he fell down instantly, vulnerable."

The thin man was anxious and coughing twice made people worry about whether he would cough out his lungs and died suddenly on the streets of New York.

Donnie looked bad and sneaked into the crowd, finding an opportunity to pinch his nose and shout, "What about that mutant? Have you defeated him?"

The thin man's body was shocked and he was energetic: "I ran away, I was beaten away by my punch, and I dared not show up again. I will protect the citizens of New York!"

The thin man claimed to be responsible for the safety of New York citizens.

"Hut me now, 20% off!" the skinny man shouted.

The crowd burst into laughter with disdain. This dry body can be knocked down with just one punch. Who would use such a person to protect him?

"Boy, do you want to hire me?" The thin man saw a child who was a few years old and ran over quickly.

The child turned around and left.

When Donnie saw two policemen watching the fun, he walked over and asked them: "Is this guy legal to do this?"

"At least it's not illegal." A policeman shrugged and said, happy to watch the fun.

Another policeman told Donny that the skinny man's speech was approved by their department, and that marching in New York City and protesting would be issued by a special department to ensure that these people are not disturbed by patrol police.

"Who wants to hire me? It's a 30% discount! It's a 30% discount!" Seeing that no one paid attention to him, the thin man consciously reduced the fee, and then sighed in a low voice. The citizens nowadays are becoming more and more difficult to cheat.

Some people in the crowd fought with the thin man, and they almost covered their faces and left without any shame, for fear of being recognized by the thin man, which was too embarrassing.

The thin man started a new round of self-promotion, and every sentence he kept rid of Downey's glorious past. Downey wanted to beat him to death.

The audience started to cheer and laughed at the top mercenaries for not paying attention.

The thin man was anxious and squeezed into the crowd, explaining his courage everywhere, giving Donnie a chance to get close to him.

Donnie turned left and right, quietly approached the thin man, and took out the vibrator in his arms with a sneer.

Find the right time and take advantage of the thin man's carelessness, Donnie slapped his head with a slap!

Bang!

The thin man widened his eyes, foamed at his mouth, and fell down in despair.

People cheered, and the two policemen watched the excitement and came up happily to clean up the venue, and dragged the thin man away.

Many citizens were whispering while walking, expressing their opinions, and Donnie was listening.

"Are all mercenaries nowadays doing this? It's so terrible." Some citizens sighed.

"There are no mercenaries nowadays, after all, the world is becoming more and more dangerous. Some time ago, did you know that Italian gangs and Chinese street gangs started to fight?"

"I heard it."

"They hired a guy at the same time, but the guy tied up the bosses of both families, claiming that if one of them paid more money, he would help him kill the boss of the other family."

"Wow, society is really sinister..."

The citizen talked happily, and it was said that the two bosses bid on the spot, and they spent all their money and fought extremely fiercely. In the end, the boss of China Street won and used his trump card. In the end, the offer was a few hundred dollars more, saving his life.

Someone asked what the killer is.

"The boss of China Street broke off his gold teeth, while the boss of Italy did not have gold teeth." The citizen said.

Donnie listened with relish. Listening to this kind of market view made Donnie feel that he was still the ordinary person he used to be. He worked hard to transport goods when he had something to do, and chatted and spanked when he had nothing to say. Although there was no great achievement that could be praised, it was better in plainness and tranquility.

But Donnie stepped into a new circle and he could never go back, and he could not go back.

This is a world of great struggle. Since we stand out from the mortal world, we will never have the chance to go back.

If you don’t fight, you will die!

After driving all the way and dealing with the routine inspections of street police, Downey finally returned to his house, a small house located in New York.

There is no more home. This used to be home, but now it is just a house. At least Donnie thinks it is just a house.

He was left alone, where did he come from?

Opening the door and walking in, Donnie looked at everything in the house, familiar and strange, but still so small but neat, everything was as old as in memory, as if nothing had happened.

Donnie sighed deeply, trying to say something to himself, but he gave up and sat on the sofa.

There was actually a letter on the table, and the corner of the letter was marked with the sender: Xavier Genius School.

Donnie opened it and read it again. The letter was written by Professor X. He invited Donnie to attend in the name of Xavier Genius Youth School, hoping that Donnie could continue to complete his studies, rather than taking a break from school to make money like before.

At the end of the letter, Professor X wrote: I really hope to meet my tribe and we can have a good talk.

Donnie sighed, sealed the letter again, and found a box to put it in solemnly. This is the X-Men sending him an invitation letter, hoping that he will not turn to Magneto.

To put it bluntly, Professor X is hinting that he should not join the Brotherhood even if he doesn't come to Xavier Genius School.

Professor X's caution is right. He and Professor X are not the same.

Donnie didn't want to invest in either of them at all. He had no power to fight back, whether it was the bald professor or Lao Wan. If he really wanted to choose one, he would rather choose Lao Wan.
