Chapter 5 Unprecedented

Just as Zhu Cijiu was excited about the opening of the Rixinglong Business and the "invention" of the flying loom, the unprecedented super drought in the entire North China finally broke out.

The super drought in the late Ming Dynasty was the longest, widest range of natural disasters since historical records, and caused the greatest damage. The drought lasted for nearly 50 years. The four provinces and one capital, one million square kilometers, were almost affected except for a few coastal areas, which directly led to the collapse of nine out of ten households in North China and the Ming Dynasty!

Later historians and meteorologists analyzed that this severe drought was mainly caused by the once-in-a-thousand-year "Little Ice Age". The late Ming Dynasty was the peak of the Little Ice Age. The cold winter caused the rainfall area to move southward, the drought in North China became increasingly serious, and grain output dropped sharply, and tens of millions of people became hungry.

Zhu Cijiu came through time and successfully ascended the throne. He could rewrite history and change Chongzhen to Chongzheng, but he could not avoid this drought, because this drought was not caused by man, but a natural disaster.

In February of the third year of Chongzheng, droughts broke out one after another in Sichuan, Shaanxi, Shanxi and Henan. When the news came back to the capital, Zhu Cijiu suddenly felt like a big head. Although he was mentally prepared, the sudden outbreak of such a large-scale drought caught him off guard. The prosperity of Japan was still in its infancy, and it would be good to produce benefits in a year; the shuttle loom was just "invented" and it would not take a day or two to form economic benefits. The Ming Dynasty was still so poor, and there were still only 20 million taels of silver in the treasury.

In the end, whether to provide relief or not is a problem.

If disaster relief is provided, 20 million taels of silver will be thrown into nearly 30 million people, and each person will not be given one tael. It does not count the cost of exploitation and grain transportation by officials at all levels, and 20 million taels will be invested in and the victims will not even be able to drink porridge!

If disaster relief is not provided, the hungry people in the five provinces will surely rise up, and the peasant uprising army will surely blossom everywhere. Our Emperor Chongzheng Zhu Cijing hated that he might have to follow the old path of Emperor Chongzhen Zhu Youjian and become the king of the country to fall!

This severe drought in the late Ming Dynasty can be said to be a difficult problem for all ages. Whether it is Qin Emperor Han Wu or Tang Zong Song Zu, they still have to stop when encountering such severe droughts. What about our Chongzheng Emperor Zhu Cijing? Will he give up?

Of course not. The 15-day hesitation between life and death when he traveled through time had already forged his will as hard as iron and persevering. Of course, he would not give up easily in the face of such a life-and-death matter. But what to do? This is really a difficult problem!

Just as Zhu Cijiu was still thinking about countermeasures, the peasant uprising had become a spike in the prairie and suddenly spread.

As early as the beginning of the first month of the third year of Chongzheng, there was a Shaanxi peasant uprising army named Wang Zishun and Miao Mei, who had three or four thousand people, heading south to siege Hancheng.

On the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, Shaanxi Governor Yang He led a large army to Hancheng to recruit Wang Zishun and lift the siege of Hancheng. When Wang Zishun saw that the official army was in great power, Hancheng could no longer be defeated, he had no choice but to accept the recruitment. However, Miao Mei refused to accept the support and led the army north. In April, she was killed in Hejiawan by the scholar Li Panlong, a Qingjian scholar.

On April 28, Wang Zishun took the excuse of Miao Mei's revenge. He was afraid that Shaanxi Governor Yang He would lead a large army to recruit pacification again, so he simply crossed the Yellow River from Shenmu and rushed straight to Shanxi. After capturing Puzhou, he divided his troops into two routes, attacked Zhaocheng and Hongdong in the east; attacked Shilou, Yonghe and others in the west, and thus began to call himself the King of Hengtian Yizi.

Later, many peasant uprising troops in Shaanxi followed Wang Zishun and crossed the Yellow River from Shenmu, attacked Xiangling, Jizhou, Taiping, Quwo and other prefectures and counties. From then on, the uprisings burned all over Shanxi and Shaanxi.

At this time, the peasant uprising army had already had a certain constitution. They usually took "battalions" as units, and each battalion had one leader. Each battalion was relatively independent, and it was time to divide and merge. Sometimes it formed a large group of siege cities and land, and sometimes it was scattered and fought on its own.

Due to the large number of peasant uprisings, the officers and soldiers involved in the encirclement and suppression in the late Ming Dynasty did not understand how many battalions there were in the peasant army. At the beginning, there were 36 battalions, and then there were thirteen 72 battalions. Anyway, there were so many that they could not count. There were about thirteen people who could rank:

The first one is Wang Jiayin, the King of Fugu. Wang Jiayin mentioned this in the previous article. He was the first to stand up for the uprising after Wang Eryi. In the first year of Chongzheng, he organized the capture of Fugu County and established an official to be the king. Later, he developed to more than 30,000 people and moved to Shaanxi, Shanxi, Gansu and other places. He was a well-deserved boss of the peasant army in the early stage. Gao Yingxiang, Li Zicheng, Zhang Xianzhong, Wang Ziyong and others were all his subordinates. However, Wang Jiayin was quite unlucky. He was assassinated by his subordinates in the fourth year of Chongzheng. Otherwise, there would be no Li Zicheng and Zhang Xianzhong later. Wang Jiayin must have established the peasant regime.

The second one is Zijinliang King Ziyong, the number one general under King Wang Jiayin of Fugu, and the leader of the 36th Battalion of the Peasant Rebel Army. He has been following Wang Jiayin in the early stage and died of illness shortly after becoming the leader. Otherwise, he will definitely be more famous than Li Zicheng and Zhang Xianzhong.

The third one is the King of Chuang Gao Yingxiang. He was the first King of Chuang. Li Zicheng's uncle. He once worked as a horse seller, was good at riding and shooting, and had extraordinary strength in his arms. He rose up in Ansai in the first year of Chongzheng. He was one of the oldest leaders in the peasant uprising army. He was also a subordinate of King Wang Jiayin, Fugu.

The fourth one is Li Zicheng, the second King of Chuang, the founder of the Dashun regime. He was originally a postman at an office station, but was removed from his official documents. Later, he killed his creditor because he could not bear the creditor's urging. Later, he killed his cheating wife. With two lives, he had to flee to Gansu to join the army. As a result, the generals in the army deducted food and salary and did not pay them. He organized a mutiny to kill the kingdom of the general and the local county magistrates! If you want to let it go, this is a murderer! Fortunately, there was no Internet at the Ming Dynasty at that time, otherwise how could he escape sanctions again and again! Perhaps because there were too many people killing, he did not dare to join the army anymore, so he simply turned to the peasant uprising army, and he was still a team leader at this time.

The fifth one is Zhang Xianzhong, the founder of the Daxi regime. He was originally a constable in Yan'an Prefecture. He was dismissed for some time. Later, he became a border soldier and was executed for a while. He was really unable to survive. He embarked on the road of peasant uprisings. Now he had just started organizing the farmers in Shibazhai in his hometown to prepare for an uprising.

The sixth place is Cao Cao, Luo Rucai, the think tank of the peasant uprising army. He is very strategic and good at reconciling the relationship between the various battalions.

The seventh and eighth places were Liu Guoneng and Li Wanqing, who were both sworn brothers of Li Zicheng and surrendered to the court later.

The ninth to thirteenth are Ma Yingshou, the old Hui Hui, He Yilong, the king of the Left Jin, the king of the Left Jin, the king of the Left Jin, and the king of the Left Jin, and the king of the Left Jin, and the king of the Left Jin, the leader of the Left Five Camp, the Left Five Camp was the second only to Li Zicheng and Zhang Xianzhong in the later period of the Peasant Army.

There are also some other kings of heaven, king of sweeping the floor, king of tidying the world, king of reincarnation, king of reincarnation, king of world, king of whole world, king of Shuntian, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, king of heaven, etc. I don’t know if it was the king of the original surname or king of the prince, but they were all kings anyway.

These people with the word "King" can at least guess the meaning. Anyway, they are either the king's surname but want to be the king. There are also some strange nicknames, but I don't know what they want to do.

Someone called the monkey of heaven, I wonder if he has read too much of "Journey to the West".

There is someone named Chongtianzhu. This person probably hasn't watched "Transformers", otherwise he should have called Optimus Prime.

Some people are called Ayama Hong, which seems to be a kind of wild flower.

There is a tiger called destroying the mountain. Can this tiger still destroy the mountain?

What other scorpions, non-stick mud, lighting lamps, girls, etc., are even more unreasonable.
