Chapter 16 Sarcophagus
I have been to Metropolis for a month, but I still don’t know many places. I bought a map and went around Metropolis during the break. Anyway, my speed can ensure that I can return to the restaurant before working hours, so I don’t have to worry about anything.
Clark came to the Metropolitan Museum, which had not been visited before, where there were historical relics with a minimum of two hundred years. Although he didn't like to come to the museum, he would go in once since he came.
There are various cultural relics behind the glass on both sides of the museum, including knives and guns, and even some yellowed books. They look very simple, but in fact they represent a lot of meaning. Every piece here can be worth a lot of money by selling it on the black market.
Clark finally stopped in a region where no one walked around. Compared to before, it was deserted. A golden sarcophagus was placed in the area, which looked a bit like the sarcophagus placed after the death of Egyptian Pharaoh.
"This sarcophagus has a history of more than a thousand years. It was discovered in a remote area of Egypt."
A man wearing glasses came to Clark at some point to introduce the history of the sarcophagus to Clark.
Clark nodded, "Why is the sarcophagus not marked as anyone?"
Generally speaking, there should be a sign of who is inside and what history is there, but there is no information about this.
"No one knows. After finding this sarcophagus, there is no information in the pyramid that shows who he is. There is a rumor that the people who transported the coffin here died in less than a year in various ways, all involved this sarcophagus. It sounds a bit fantastic. Go and read the newspapers from twenty years ago, and they clearly record them."
The man was a little too enthusiastic and just needed to introduce why the sarcophagus had no information and even said everything like curse. Did he unknowingly or not?
Only then did Clark understand why few people came to this area. It turned out that this place was famous. Anyone from the metropolis knew that the sarcophagus was cursed. The incident twenty years ago left a deep impression on people, but it was impossible to move the sarcophagus, so a special area was set up to reserve it specifically for it.
"Jock." The man smiled kindly and stretched out his hand.
Clark did not refuse, and held the hand named Jock, feeling funny about Jock's name in his heart. Jock, skipped the class, very close tone.
"You have a lot of research on this sarcophagus?"
Jock shook his head and said, "No, I was looking through the old yellow newspapers, and later I found out that there was a curse of sarcophagus. Later, I learned that when the museum was built or renovated, the sarcophagus had not been moved. People still remember the curse incident that year."
"The curse may exist." Clark believed in his heart that the sarcophagus might carry some kind of curse. Thinking about it, if it was infected with a virus, it would be found. However, Jock said that there was no sign of a virus. If the virus was ruled out, the only thing left was a curse.
"What I mean is that you can have super powers, but curses may not be missing." Jock also agreed very much. He is not a pedantic person.
Clark said in a humor that he didn't know whether it counts or not: "I will recall your words when I go back tonight and can't sleep."
"Then you will definitely want to know the history of sarcophagus excavation. Believe me, you will become more and more interested in sarcophagus just like me in the first place."
Jock remembered something and said, "Clark, I'll leave in advance."
"You go and do it first."
Jock smiled politely and left. Clark looked at the sarcophagus. His premonition was very accurate. From the moment he saw the sarcophagus, it seemed as if there was a layer of something on the surface of the sarcophagus. This layer of thing extended from the inside of the sarcophagus, which was an ominous thing.
My premonition was correct again. Clark turned around and left. He classified the curse as a magical category. His resistance to magic is far less than that of superpowers. This is his weakness. He has not studied curse and does not know anyone else who has studied curse. Besides, Jock also said that only those who have moved the sarcophagus will have an accident. Isn’t it okay if he doesn’t move? God knows if he moves a little, he will backfire.
The museum is open from 8 am to 7 pm. No one is allowed to enter after 7 o'clock, except for the security guard.
It was late at night, and the security guard Maris came to patrol the museum as usual to prevent anyone from coming in and stealing. The lights from the flashlight shone on the cultural relics in the cabinet. Maris smacked his lips. It was worth a lot of money to steal these things, and he was also a little moved, but he still remembered that he was a museum security guard, and stealing cultural relics was not a good thing.
When patrolling various areas of the museum, what Maris hates the most is the innermost and the most deserted area, where the cursed sarcophagus is placed. Whenever he walks here, he always feels that his neck is blown by the cold wind, which is a chilling area. It is really a gloomy and terrifying area.
"Come here, come here, come here..."
Maris was stunned and his scalp was numb. There was no one in the museum except himself and several other colleagues. Several colleagues did not come out with him in the duty room. So who would say "Come here"? And it was so gloomy and terrifying that people would not think of people when they heard it. Instead, it was the ghost in the movie.
"Come here, come here, come here..."
Repeating again, Maris turned his head and looked at the place where the sound came out, which was the sarcophagus.
In an abnormal situation, Maris trembled and took out the walkie-talkie. The walkie-talkie had only a "sizzling" sound, and he broke off contact with the duty room.
"What's the situation? Please connect it to me!"
In desperation, Maris said angrily. Maris suddenly changed his eyes. He did not put himself in the museum. Instead, he seemed to see a veil in the Pharaoh Palace in a movie, which was blocked by the veil, giving people a sense of hazyness, and even hearing the woman's panting in his ears.
Maris fell to the ground. No matter how he thought about it, he knew that it must have something to do with the sarcophagus. As for the scene and the country where the sarcophagus was located, as for the woman's panting, go to hell, she is not a person with a sperm brain. Everything seems strange at this time.
A slim figure appeared behind the veil, and Maris was stunned. He was not the kind of person with a sperm, but he was also a man. Seeing such a slim scene, could he not watch it?
The veil disappeared, the Pharaoh Palace also disappeared, and Maris returned to the sarcophagus. This time the distance between him and the sarcophagus was only three or four meters, which was different from the previous ten meters.
The sarcophagus is sealed and is afraid of curses, so no one has opened what it contains. But now a gap is opened, Maris is afraid to watch, his legs tremble, and he can't move, and he can only watch something dark like gas flow out.
Maris was quickly swallowed by the black fog and disappeared immediately. It seemed that no one had ever been here except for the walkie-talkie that fell on the ground.
